Has anyone had this happen to them, I purchased a Xyron 510 yesterday at HL. Got home tried it out with a few different things, primarily paper and SU Cardstock, and it is not sticky at all, doesn't adhere, so I am wondering if the cartridge is bad? I sent an email to xyron about it and know I won't hear anything until next week, since they are closed on weekends. Just wanted to see if anyone else ever had this issue.
TIA!!

I got a defective 510 permanent adhesive cartridge recently at Michaels. I exchanged it with no problem. I've been using xyron for many years, and this was the first time this happened to me. Maybe there was a bad batch.

I've had it happen with a Cheetah - it was during a crop at my local store. The owner sold it to me and saw my problem, he just went a got another refill and took that one back. My aunt had the same problem you had with a machine cartridge though. I think it was the 510. Whatever size it was she just took it back and the store exchanged it for her. We live 1 1/2 hours away from one of THOSE stores so the inconvience was the worst thing about the problem. Good luck, Xyron might send you coupons or a free refill.
Definately worth reporting.

Wow, just bought the same one and could not get it to work at all so I thought the cartriage was in wrong and I was messing with it and now I have the stuff all stuck together so am taking it back. The instructions were worthless and I am not sure I really need it anyway.

I've had a defective cartridge before also....I'd take it back to the store, I wouldn't wait on Xyron....I've been using Xyron for years and I've only had one bad cartridge.
thanks everyone, i would take it back, but the store is so inconvenient. I will see what xyron says, I don't need to use it this weekend anyway, was just so excited to get it at 40% off, especially since I really wanted it for Christmas but it wasn't under the tree, believe there was enough stuff under there, so no biggie, but I still wanted one

This just happened to me the week before Christmas. I have a 900 and love it, but had never used a laminating cartridge before. Needed it for some last minute Christmas gifts, so luckily Mikes had it, with 40% off!!! When I tried it all I got was wrinkles. It wasn't working at all. I EM'd the company and never heard ANYTHING from them, but I also knew that it was the holidays and I told myself that was why. The Monday before New Years a package arrived and it was a brand new cartridge. No questions asked, it works great. ***I would suggest running the cartridge in the machine a little more and maybe it will correct itself. That is what I did, knowing that I wasn't out anything. I lost a few feet of tape, but eventually it did correct itself and I was able to use the rest of the roll. Good Luck!

I had that happen to me with a bunch I had bought off line, on sale, while living overseas. I didn't bother returned them, but it does make me a bit hesitant to buy on-line again. Now with me back in the states, I would certainly exchange it.
I've had a Xyron 850 since 1998, and a 510 since probably 2002--and only ever had one defective cartridge. The one support was broken when I went to change it, but hubby fixed it (this was for the 850). I've always found the company great, and the distributor I get mine from (KM Supplies in MI) to be great on service and speed!
