OK, I already have the wizard, which I love, except for the fact that I have to stand up to use it, the ratcheting noise it makes and the uncontrolled exits. I've been brosing the Cuttlebug threads and it seems to do most of what the wizard can do minus the few annoyances I've listed. I'm seriously thinking about using the 50% coupon this holiday weekend to grab a Cuttlebug! So do you think it's worth it to spend $40 so I'm less annoyed using a die cut machine or does the Cuttlebug have little quirks that will drive me crazy as well? TIA
Ok please spill who has the 50% off coupon I want a cuddlebug too?

Sorry, I forgot to mention it in the thread. I received next week's MICHAEL's add yesterday and they have a 50% coupon for Sunday and Monday and then a 40% coupon for Tuesday-Saturday!
My two cents worth ...
I have a Cuttlebug, and just bought a Wizard. Your Cuttlebug won't smash bottlecaps, that's a biggie to me, but not why I bought the Wizard. I was at a show where there was a great special on the WIzard, and I just couldn't pass it up. Your Cuttlebug is also capable of winging a sandwich across the room, if not controlled. I love them both, and if you can get 50% off, I say go for it! :-)

I'm not a cap smasher or a Wizard user, but I absolutely love my 'bug and haven't encountered any frustrating quirks! Have yet to fling a sandwich across a room, too, but doggone if that doesn't sound like FUN! lol

Same here. I never thought about smashing a bottle cap in my 'bug. but yean, flinging a sandwich across the room does sound like fun! I wonder if my husband would appreciate the humor if I tried that the next time he wants a sandwich? :-D
Seriously, though, I love my cuttlebug and am very glad I bought it.

HAA HAA HAA!!!! I love my bug! I have a cricut and didnt think I would want or need the bug and i wanted and NEEDED the bug... I love mine and have had no issues at all!
I love the Cuttlebug and use it often, mostly with the embossing folders.
It is simple to use and requires very little physical effort. You can do it easily sitting at a table. My little 7 year older granddaughter uses it with some supervision when she visits here.
I think it is a great deal for the money, when you can get it with a coupon. The embossing folders are so inexpensive and versatile and can be used for almost any occasion.
I also like to use the smaller embossing folders to emboss the flaps on my envies. Great look with very little effort.

Thnaks ladies. More than likely I will keep my wizard if I get a cuttlebug. I haven't tried the smashing botttle caps or setting mulitple eyelets yet, but intend to. BTW does anyone know if the cuttlebug embossing folders will work in the wizard?
I have a sizzix, sidekick, wizard and cuttlebug. In most ways, the CB is my favorite . . . the only "bad habit" the CB has is that I've broken a lot of B plates. I just consider that a price of crafting. I "love" using my CB dies on chipboard coasters and that is how I usually end up cracking the plates.

If you can, download the video from the spellbinders website. It shows how you can set several eyelets all at once. I think you need a separate plate for it though.

Yes, you can set multiple eyelets! There is a demonstration on the Spellbinders website. This example shows how to set decorative eyelets. The best part about setting eyelets in the Wizard is that you can do LOTS of them at once and you have no rough edges.
If you need a more "solid" set to an eyelet there is a new sandwich that will be demonstrated on a dvd scheduled for release in late fall. You would need a solid set if the eyelet will be moved on the project, for example if you use the eyelets to lace string that will be removed. Personally I like the solid set better. That receipe, from the bottom up is:
White mat
tan pad
Eyelets inserted in paper (shaft side up)
Eyelet washers (curvature up)
Eyelet setting plate
spacer plate
blue mat
TIP***** Make sure your eyelet inserted into the paper is a tight fit, when you turn it over, the eyelets shouldn't fall out. I've set 18 in one pass....it makes a great Christmas card.....cut a few triangles out, put eyelets in them and stack up like Christmas tree! The eyelets become the ornaments!
I just had to chime in and say I love my Cuttlebug! I've also used Sizzix dies with it and had no problems. I have no experience with the Wizard, but the Cuttlebug rocks!
I love my Wizard! I do a lot of embossing with the Fiskars texture plates. I got it before the Cuttlebug came out and can't see the need for me to have both. I am very happy with what the Wizard does.
Thanks for the tip on the eyelets. I will have to try that!
I have to say I love my Cuttlebug! I decided when I bought a diecut machine, I would get several and compare. No, I didn't spend a fortune. I bought them on ebay.
I got a Zaz cutter, an Accucut, a Sidekick and lastly, bought a Cuttlebug at Hobby Lobby with their 40% off coupon. The cuttlebug can take all my other dies, and it's easy to use. Anybody want a Zaz, or Sidekick?
I decided to pass on the Cuttlebug. My Wizard is terrific, even if I have to stand up to use it. Besides, I can use the money for something else. I just purchased some punches and cardstock over at Joann.com!

That's what I did awhile ago. I had been a die-hard Wizard owner and decided to sell it on eBay to buy a Cuttlebug. I used the proceeds to buy the Cuttlebug with a 50% off coupon plus quite a few folders and dies. No regrets at all. I like the smaller size, lighter weight and the fact that the plates don't go shooting out the other side.

Got a quick question for you gals! I just got my Cuttlebug at ACMoore, because my Michael's would not honor their coupon on what they said was a "Cricut machine-same company". ARGHHHHH!!! Hate that when I hear others Michaels WILL honor the coupon for the CB. My question is since I have not yet taken it out of the box,(ordered some embossing folders that are not here yet!)) <yes, I KNOW, I am crazy> are the plates needed for the embossing folders included, or am I gonna have to buy something else???

They should be included. And that really gets my goat about Michaels....drives me batty when the cashiers tell people that they can't use a coupon on the Bug....grr. (Can you tell that I work there?)

I even read the coupon and it said not to be used on Cricut products. So I said this is not a Cricut, its a Cuttlebug - even tho it is made by the same company <Provocraft> its NOT a Cricut!! Still wouldn't take it. Guess I have to come to your store!! Do you really work at Michael's???

Anyone interested in purchasing a brand new Wizard used maybe 3 times? I have one and would love to sell it, I even have the extra set of plates to smash bottle caps and all the original paperwork and die. PM if you are interested.
Thanks

I love my CB. I think it's one of my best craft investments yet. Used a coupon to get it when they first came out and I get the folders & die cuts either with a copon or when on sale. So all in all I really don't have a lot invested. I haven't had any issues with it at all.
I love my Bug, it was the best thing I bought. So far I haven't had any problems or quirks with it. What's even better is that I tried the 13 inch Sissix die (with the adaptors) in it at the weekend and it worked a treat - tried the swirl die and it's fab. I'm in love with my Bug all over again
