Default What is most versitile? Markers, spots, crayons...

I want to have all the colors available to use, & with the freebie set & half of another set (I actually have one already), I have 2 &1/2 set that I still need. I am wanting to get a few opinions on what I should get:

Markers: I'd be able to have all the colors (even ones I'll be getting as ink pads), so I can color on my stamps.

Classic spots: Good price, but how long do they last before needing reinking & can you easily use a waterbrush to 'color' with them...

Craft spots: Good price, plus I like the idea of being able to use my stamping with my scrapbooks (if I ever start that is), but again are they going to last, if I don't use them too often are they prone to drying out...

Watercolor Crayons: Good price for all the SU colors, & I like the watercolor look...

I really am thinking of space & getting the most punch for my $$ (that is why I'm not really wanting the full size ink pads...). I mostly like stamping in black or versamark & EP, & using watercolor pencils (but don't like the colors I currently have I want to match SU papers...)

So, what have the fellow SCSers out there done, esp, those not really needing the full size ink pads for demo purposes... What are the pros & cons of each...

Thanks in advance

I've wondered this, too. I have not actually used the spots or crayons but I like being able to put color exactly where I want it with the markers plus being able to color in images. I am also a huge fan of using the classic pad with blender pens, such a neat effect and not as messy as using brushes.

I find that my craft pads run on the very super dry side to super moist.. so any sproject is up int he air for me... it bugs me to no end because I have to constantly purchase reinkers...

I store them away from heat or cold, but I dunno.. have no luck...
Just have to get every reinker ... but I feel robbed because I spend all my money on those and not new stamp sets or fun goodies.

Can you use blender pens with the craft ink?

I have not tried blender pens with craft ink pads, but the Aquapainters work great!

I bought the blender pens, hoping that will give me all the colors.

I have all the Stampin' Spots except the Soft Subtles, but I'm going to find a way to use the blender pens and that color family of chalks - lol.
Before I found out about the blender pens I had intended to buy the markers. I tried a blender pen and could even use it like a marker on a stamp, not just to color in a stamped image on paper. That's what sold me on them.
My order is in today, so I'll play with it tonight, hope it works.

I have the classic spots and like them for having all the colors and traveling. I prefer the larger pads at home but it's a nice way to have all the colors. I use my aquapainters with them all the time without problems. I take the color from the sides of the pads, not the tops, or I press the spot on a plastic case and then pick up the color from there. I am going to have to try the blender pen too.
Just remember to store your spots upside down.

I am planning on adding the craft spots for scrapbooking.

I was storing my spots upside down and 3 of them leaked quite a bit! Has this happened to anyone else? They actually leaked right out of the little spot holder and onto the top of the box they are stored in.

Mine leaked, but it was the threads of the linen pad getting caught in the cover. I have 3 or 4 colors that have "stained" the labels of the pads next to them, but they all still work fine!

I love my classic spots! I'm getting the new colors on my next order I can't wait. I have all the colors w/o having to worry about where the heck to store all the full size pads! I can use my aquapainter or my blender pens with them and I can eve use them to "color" on the stamps like a marker (if I'm really careful)! IMO the spots are the best investment you can make!
