Question What is chipboard?

I read the forums and see "chipboard" and don't have a clue as to what this is. What can you do with this to embellish greeting cards? I don't do scrapbooking, just cards.

Chipboard is cardboard that is shaped into different letters or shapes which can be inked with craft ink or covered with scrapbook paper and added to scrapbooks or cards. They are a very nice addition to either.

Many scrapbook stores sell it, Stampin' Up sells it, and little by little other stores are getting it. You can also take empty boxes from your pantry to make your own....check out the challenge for today in the challenge section.
You can trace your own letters or shapes onto cardboard, and have fun using them just like the chipboard you've purchased.

Chipboard, to me, is a lot heavier than cardboard. Maybe even a little heavier than the back of a notepad. It shouldn't bend much.
Love SU chipboard accents!
Just got some great chipboard from Oriental Trader's scrapbooking catalog!
