Default Upside down vs right side up

My question is about storing Stampin' Spots. Which is really the correct or
best way to store them. I had been storing them upside down but recently
saw a post saying right side up is the correct way. Sooo, which is it? :roll
Thanks in advance for any replies to this basic question!

I too was told to store them upside down.
I would like to know too -I figured since they don't store upside down on their own like the full size that they would need to be upside down .

i think spots go upside down. the full size pads automatically store themselves upside down, but the spots don't, so you need to do it yourself... clear as mud??

Default Stamp Storage

Any water-based/dye ink pads should be stored upside down so the surface of the pad is always loaded with color with the exception of rainbow pads (so the colors don't bleed). Any pigment, embossing,or Versamark pads should be stored right side up so they don't bleed and/or leak.

The Stampin' Spots are the same as the SU! Classic pads, so they should be stored upside down. The SU! Craft pads are pigment based, so they should be stored right side up. As for the chalk pads, they are a dye/pigment hybrid, so I would probably store them right side up, too. I also read somewhere that markers should be stored on their sides. HTH!

I store mine upside-down. When I have received a new set, I turn the box upside-down and write the set name on the side. Thus, they are stored up-side and I can read the name right-side up(Is that clear or what!). I did this because then when I use them, all I have to do is turn the box over and not each individual spot

Ladies,
Thanks so much for all of your replies! Happily, I've been storing all my
various types of pads correctly.
Hubby's Princess,
I did the same thing you did marking the outside of the upside down box with the set names so I can read the name & just flip the box over to use
them.
About the marker storage...Since I didn't get the whole set with the case
I've been adding a few to each order. Recently I saved one of the new,
funky shaped Kraft mayo jars. Cleaned it out really well, pulled the label
off, stamped a piece of cardstock to fit around it & Voila! Sideways stor-
age for my markers that hopefully will hold all of them as I acquire the
rest of the colors.
Thanks again!

Keep an eye on your spots, however, if you're not using them all the time. I had some that were so inky, I had beads of ink sitting on them when I flipped them over that stamp with them. Since then, I store mine right-side-up!
