Remember when your mother ( or granny) said "those are for fabric only!!!!!!!!!!" There is a reason...paper dulls scissors in a big way!

I have over 20 pairs...but I taught sewing and paper crafting. Paper never touches fabric. That is my scissor rule...and, then, fray check if I mess up. Love the stuff!

I use my SU Paper Snips, I use them to cut paper, ribbon, anything really and they are still as sharp as the day I got them four years ago.
In fact I have been known to snip myself depending on how I was holding the ribbon.
I always cut on an angle and also like the v shape.
I also try not to over handle the ribbon but I do have a lighter if it is particularly frayie ribbon, although I don't use it much because I find it hard to get alight.

I keep my Bic lighter handy for my ribbon. Be carefull on the sheer ribbon, takes practice. This method works best in my opinion.

Put a little white glue on your finger, and apply it to the edges of your ribbon after you cut it. Any white glue will work.

Thank you so much. Everyone has given me so many good ideas. I've tried the lighter trick and the glue and the sharp scissors. I still have to purchase the stop fray stuff. I noticed some ribbons are fine as long as I cut at an angle. The ones that I am having trouble with have little silver threads running through them. I am not sure what kind of ribbon it is tho. I've tried the lighter trick..however, it melts it and it looks icky. So I am going to go buy that stuff today and try that. Thank you so much for all of your help on this.
