I just bought a MS border punch, and I can't get it to punch through my quality cs from SU and PTI. The only paper that works is my thin white cs from Hobby Lobby. Anybody else had this problem? Suggestions on how to fix it? TIA.
Yes, I own a few border punches from MS and I love them but they won't punch my heavy SU paper either. They punch the lighter paper weight better. And yes, dj_pinkey is right, SU paper is 80 lbs.

Yes, I had the same problem with one of the MS border punches and I returned it to Michaels. If you do this, be sure and include a piece of cardstock with a sample of how the punch didn't go through the paper. I'm trying to remember which punch it was, but I'm drawing a blank right now....
I have an MS border punch and I HATE IT! I will never waste my money ever again on those punches. Mine will not even cut through thin paper. It only worked a couple of times. I also did try the tin foil, wax paper and so on. The problem is that the entire punch die is all the same height unlike SU where some of the die is longer to start the cutting.
Martha's punches have difficulty punching heavier paper because of all the little lacy intricate cuts. I can use mine on DP and SU Whisper White/Very Vanilla without too much trouble.
I'm happy that the new SU scalloped border punch is JUST scallops without any smaller cutting edges in its design, so hopefully it will work fine on heavier cardstock. There are some new samples in the gallery that used it on SU cardstock.
I'm just annoyed. I fought against buying any MS scrapbooking stuff because I just don't like her, but I kept seeing this punch in the gallery, and it was sooo pretty, I couldn't resist. Now I'm kicking myself for buying it!
Love, love, love Martha Stewart punches. So far, I have had no difficulties, but I do not use SU cardstock. I use for the most part Bazzill. Love her punches. I think I said it enough, don't you? LOL
