Default Tips on removing ink stain

Hi! SOS!

My sister called to let me know that she went rummaging through her stamp supplies this evening and her black ink pad leaked out everywhere, including on her comforter and quilt on her bed. :(

Does anyone have any tips on how to remove the ink?

Has this happened to anyone else before? I can't imagine how this could happen and her stuff is pretty much new--I don't think she ever would have added water or anything like that to her pad.

Thanks!

There is a stain remover sold in several of my LSS that seems to be able to remove such stains. It is called ' Granny's Secret Recipe' Stain Remover. The scrapbooking store I usually go to for supplies swears by it.

When I get pen marks on my pants, I use water and hairspray!

Hairspray. I swear by it. The cheaper the hairspray the better. Spray it on and then blot it off with a paper towel. In my opinion, it works best if the the article with the stain has not been washed or dried yet.

My daughter squeezed my black SU re-inker. It was everywhere. On my new microfibre curtains, her hands & arms, all over her clothes and our laminate floors. I kept washing it & it turned purple & wouldn't come out at all. I should have taken a picture but I was so mad. We ended up spraying goof off onto the curtains & clothes and threw it immediately into the wash. It didn't even bleach the fabric at all but it came out even without a stain. I used it on her hand as well & all the purple was gone. It is such a stubborn stain. Good luck!

I was also going to recommend you try hairspray. I know when my hubby used to have to wear dress shirts to work I occassionally needed to use the hairspray to remove ink from pens that bled into the pocket of his shirts. Worked like a charm.
