Default Tip for blending gelatos

I like to blend my gelatos dry at times, with my finger. But often I end up with some spots not blending very well due to waxy build up. It just kind of looks waxy, and I don't like that that look. Also, it seems to happen with some colors more than others.

I wanted to do an emboss resist on a tag. I stamped in versamark, and embossed with clear powder. I wanted to scribble on gelatos, then blend with my finger. I decided to try inking the whole tag up with versamark using direct to paper technique-after my stamping and heat embossing was all done. I then scribbled on the gelatos and blended with my finger.

It worked! The blend was smooth with no waxy build up. I then buffed off the excess gelato with a paper towel. Apparently the coat of versamark on the paper makes the gelatos blend smoothly.

That's a very good idea! I'll have to try it next time I use my Gelatos. I wet my fingertip, blot it on a paper towel, and blend.

I just got some. They are not readily available in Australia ad for many years I have wanted to try but didnt want to pay the cost of postage then I was in Big W which is probably like your Target or Walmart in America and there were some there and at a good price. Not much choice but enough for me to grab. Now to try them. I will remember your tip thanks.
