So how many of you have it? Do you love it? Not use it? I've been thinking about getting it but I thought I'd ask the folks here what they think of it first. Also, what do you do with yours? Ideas, tips etc are also welcome.

I use it all the time. Mostly for the template for paper piercing, faux stitching and if I do eyelets at stamp club I use the back of the cutting mat so I don't have to carry around my big cutting board. (I don't do well at free hand piercing so the template is wonderful!) I even used the bigger template holes to dry emboss a dot border!
I use it a lot - with the spacing template for stitching or just the foam mat for piercing paper or ribbon that I will attach with brads. I also love the small self-healing mat for placing eyelets, because it has the measurements all the way 'round.

I use it all the time. The piercing plate is great and I also use it sometimes for keeping faux stitching straight. I use the soft pad under my cs when I pierce or make holes or brads. Set most of my eyelets using the mat. I think it's a great investment.
Is there any other company that makes some sort of piercing template? I won't be making a SU order any time soon, but would like to get something like that.

I have read where some use plastic canvas for their piercing template. I found out the hard way when trying to find the piercing template that Joann's nor Micheal's carry them cause the sales people looked at me like I was stupid and didn't know what I was talking about . . . and THEN I found out it was SU! that had them. they are the only ones that I know of that make it. but I could be wrong . . . LOL!
I just bought the mat pack and I love it. The paper piercing or faux stitching with the white gel pen adds such a different look than just layering. I just did a swap of 20 cards using the paper piercing as the border of a stamped image. The border was 2 1/2 x 2 1/2. My concern is if the foam pad will withstand all that piercing. Will I need to replace it, and if so, has anyone replaced just the foam pad without having to buy another mat pack?

I absolutely LOVE my mat! I pretty much just use them for what they were intended... piercing holes, lining up eyelets, brads, and buttons. I like how the grids on the mats help me put brads/eyelets/buttons dead center in corners, too. I used to use a piercing template made by Lasting Impressions, but it was made of metal and not transparent. I find that SU's piercing mat being transpaernt *really* makes it easy through to your project underneath and help keep things straight. Of course the setting mat is great, as it's very portable and the soft cushy mat helps protect yor table/work surface. ;)

It's a very simple example, but right now this is the only card I have uploaded where I used the piercing template. And like I said, I used it in it's most simplest manner here: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers Hope this helps.

I wasn't sure how much I would use it either when I bought it, but I rarely put it away. I use it for placing holes for eyelets and brads in corners so they are even on each side. I also use it a lot for faux stitching. Here's an example that I did this week. I think you would be very happy with this little tool.
I have a paper piercing template that I got from my LSS, but I never use it. It is made of the same material as the SU Classy Brass dry embossing templates, so you can't see your paper through it. I like how SU!'s lets you see exactly where on the paper you're making the holes.
Love it! I use the piercing template (with soft mat) all the time for straight, even holes, sometimes running a marker along them for faux stitching. I occasionally use it to line up brads, etc. I like that you can see through it to line everything up in the right place, too. And the little hard mat is very handy for eyelet setting; I no longer am hunting all around for my bigger mat since I use the mat pack so much I know just where it is!
I'm no good at adding photo links, don't know why, but this will have a link to my small gallery. The Weathered Basket hostess invitation has faux stitching, and Blossom alla Jeanne S has 3 brads (they don't look even in the gallery, I think this must have happened while scanning them).
You will NOT regret this purchase.

I use it to:
* get the holes all lined up nicely for eyelets &/or brads.
* straight-pierce C/S with the paper piercing tool. (Love this & it's sooooo easy!) And, by doing this, you can go right ahead to Faux Stitching if you like. ;)
* pierce C/S in a 'cornering' design.
* "Dot" patterns such as X, T, or .: with a Stampin' Write marker or piercer.
* The 'firm' pad is excellent for setting your eyelets, placing the eyelet upside down so the 'face' of the eyelet is against the firm surface. With a milder hammer force, eyelets will turn out with their original 'plump' look when finished!
I just got mine yesterday, but can't imagine that I won't love it and reading this thread makes me positive that I'm going to love it!! I am very particular about spacing and have been dying to do the faux stitiching and now that I have this, I'll give it a whirl. I didn't even bother before as I new that spacing would be an issue - not anymore!!

I just got my SU mat pack yesterday but was surprised there is no tool for piercing the holes. What do you use for the piercing?

I've heard that people use a push pin or a needle. I have the big tool kit that has a tool and needles in it, so I have never tried the push pin or needle.
I just got it too and I love it-I was using the lasting impressions one but it its very difficult not seeing where you are punching. The price kept me from getting it for a long time and now I am not sorry.
Thanks for all your positive responses and wonderful card pics. I've now got the mat pack and just have to find some time to play with it. I can't wait, I've got all kinds of ideas thanks to everyone.
