I've heard of these files but am reluctant to try them. I read on another message board that using them voids your warranty on your bug.

If you go to the Cricut Messageboards, there is a whole section for the Design Studio. You can find more ideas there. I found this blog: http://cricutsoftcuts.blogspot.com/ on their messageboards.

I honestly don't see how downloading a .cut file will void the warranty. They are all done using Design Studio. I think it's when you download other programs to use with your cricut that voids the warranty.

p.s. thanks for listing the links, I bookmarked them all! :-)

I have the trial version and all is well so far. You just open them up as you would one that you created.

Thanks for that link, I have it already, forgot to post it.

I was thinking of another type of program; not the ones that are done w/using Design Studio. Sorry, but I don't remember exactly what type of files they were.

I heard about some font program that lets you use all type fonts, but I never heard anything about it voiding the warranty. Is that the program you are talking about?

Ok, I went digging and found what it was. It was a program called Sure Cuts A Lot. Here's a link to the cricut site and their take on it: http://www.cricut.com/messageboard/t...tware&#1823655

Sorry for any confusion, I thought the Sure Cuts A Lot files were what the OP was referring to. *skulks to corner*

If you have VM ware fusion you can run windows programs on your Mac. I have a Mac and have the VM and use it when I am working on windows programs.

Jess, no skulking! :-) It's not a big deal. I think you are right, it's the stuff like Sure Cuts a Lot that will void the warranty.

Thanks for the information. I was thinking about getting it and wondering how ProvoCraft could allow it since it would pretty much do away with needing any font carts. I hadn't heard anything about it voiding the warranty. Now I will just have to wait until my warranty is up! LOL!!!

It comes with all the carts, but you can only use what you have. Seems we all have the George cartridge so you can create with that. I have created some cute things. Try it out!

Ok, Ok I won't skulk!

Asking about the design studio, has anyone figured out how to successfully weld the letters together in a word? Mine doesn't seem to want to cooperate with me.

I wish I had George.... :( But my E did not come with one. Hubby purchased from ACM. I just can not think of spending that much money for what they are going for right now.. Just too much.. but looks like everyone is really coming up with some great files.. I am jealous.. :(
