Default Stickles

What are your favorite colors? I'd like to buy some stickles, but have never used it before. I've also seen "ice" stickles. What's the difference? Have I been hiding under a rock?

I have the "icicle" coloured stickles and love them. I don't really use any other colour. They are so fun and just add a little "bling" to your card or project. I like to put them all over the crown from the Unfrogettable set or I put some stickles in the center of flowers, etc. you get the idea...lol.

Hey, Becky! I'm not sure but I think Ice Stickles just have the chunkier glitter in it?

My favorites include: "Crystal", "Diamond", "Stardust"--all of which are iridescent/transparent.

Other faves include Lime, Orange Peel, Yellow, Christmas Red, Eucalyptus, Turquoise, and Fruit Punch.

And, before you invest in the Stickles brand, I recently noticed Michael's now carries some WONDERFUL versions of practically the very same thing, manufactured by Sulynn Industries (sp?), in variety packs--Ultrafine glitter, and beautiful assortments of colors! Worth checking out, IMHO?! Many probably wouldn't notice them, because they are in the general crafting aisles near loose glitters, and not over by the stamping/scrapbooking stuff?

HTH,

P.S. I've become a glitter freak of late . . .

I was hoping you would post on this thread, Julie. I always love having your opinion! I've noticed the brand that Michaels carries but didn't know if they worked as good, so I didn't get them. I'll have to check them out again. Thanks!

I was also glad to see that you posted your wish list. We think alike, girlie!

 Oh, 'dat wish list be GROWIN'!!!! Eeeeek!!! Yikes!

Yeah, the Michael's stuff I haven't actually tried yet, but I'm VERY tempted to buy a pack of it next time I'm in there and see if it's any good. I think there are some larger bottles of the very same stuff--mebbe Michael's would open one for testing purposes? Wouldn't hurt to ask. I hate buying stuff before I know the quality of it, too . . . I have a box filled with "piece-o'- crap-why'd-I-buy-this????" purchases in it . . . I'd rather it didn't get any fuller, UKWIM?! ;) snort!

I love Ice iridesant (sp?) It's clear with some sparkle.

Eucalypus is another good color--very light green that works with many green in colors. Don't use it as much, but copper is very pretty too.

Yes, I have made the mistake of buying cheaper versions....only to regret it later! I think I will try the irridescent ones first. I love anything that works with any color! Thanks for the suggestions girls!

I've purchased the line that Julie mentioned & didn't personally care for it. Too runny! In the Stickles line, I LOVE Stardust & Icicle!

I have found that after a period of time, the stickles seem to clog up and I have to use a pin to open up the area around the tip. When this happens only the glue comes out and the glitter settles at the bottom of the bottle. Anyone else have this problem? Didn't mean to hijack this thread...just hoping someone can offer advice. TIA

Hi Debbie! I'm a fairly new Stickles person - thanks to my friends here! However, it's glitter glue that comes in different colors. Basically you would use it instead of 2 way glue/DD. I know if you have a Ben Franklin near you they sell it!

That happened to me once, so I turned my bottle upside down before I put it back in it's little cubby spot! HTH

Frantic stamper sells them also ... and she is GREAT to deal with. I've ordered many times. She is quick to ship and I've only had good experiences.

I have Yellow, Xmas Red, Lime Green, Pink, and Ice and love them all. I use the colored ones to fill in centers of flowers all the time. I use the yellow a lot to make princess crowns "gold" and magic wands "sparkly." I like using these in the centers of my small Prima flowers, too. I've had an occassionaly clog but nothing that would turn me off using the product. Crystal Effects clogs up a lot worse. The trick is to put the cap on while holding the bottle upside down and before you stop "squeezing."

If you are looking for an online source for Stickles:
http://www.lasimppan.com/stickles.htm
And, the nice thing is that you can spend up to $15 and only pay $1.50 for shipping! So if you'd like to try Stickles you can get a few bottles without paying alot to have them shipped to you.

Anita

I got mine at addicted to rubber stamps. I got Lavendar, Silver, Stardust, Icicle, Copper, Gold, Platinum, Blueberry Ice, Grape Ice, and Strawberry Ice. The Ice ones were 3.79 a bottle but they are 1 oz and the regular ones are .5 oz and they are 2.39 I believe and it takes 3 days to get them. Plus they have 3 dollars off right now your order too.

I love all the iridescent ones as well as the ones with color in the actual glue. I think Fruit punch is my most used. the surprise one that I like is the black. it makes cool little elegant beads!

I found that if you put the Ice on while your design is still wet, it takes on the color of whatever you've put it on! I don't think I'll be buying any other colors!
