Default Singer Pixie~Undecided...

I keep looking at the Singer pixie verses the Janome sew mini only because I live in Canada and they dont ship to canada.

I've tried the search for reviews on both but the search is not working right now. The singer Pixie is available in Canada but not gettng the reviews that Janome is...

Any help would be appreciated

I have a purple pixie. I love it! I never sewed a day in my life. When I got it home I took it out of the box and threaded it ( with the instructions of course) and then made a cat toy with fabric, batting and catnip. It worked very well. I love it!

I had the Pixie and thought it was very cheaply made. I hated it and took it back to Walmart. Get the Janome Sew Mini. Or better yet, get the Hello Kitty Janome sewing machine from target.com. It's a 3/4 size machine, about halfway between the Sew Mini and a regular size machine. It has a rotary hook which means (according to the guy at the sewing machine store) less of a chance for jammed up thread. I love mine, even more than my Pacesetter Brother which cost 3x as much! (BTW, I've had the Sew Mini as well and the zigzag function gave up after a few times.)

I bought the purple Pixie. Had problems of all kinds but especially with the foot pedal. Took it back and got another one. Had more foot pedal problems. Took it back and got my money this time. Took the money to Hancock fabric and got the Janome sew mini and LOVE it!!! Janome is a better quality machine all the way around!
