I love using gold "foil" or "mirror paper" on my cards. I had a favorite gold that I bought a bunch of years ago. I can't remember where I bought it and the little pieces I have left have no label of any kind. I probably bought it at my local shop, Joanns or Michaels. I went to all three today and couldn't find it. What I really liked about this paper was that while it was definitely gold, it was a paler gold than the paper I can find now. I think it looks/ed very classy. It wasn't too bright yet had the full mirror effect. Another way to describe it might be that it had less yellow than the gold papers I can find now. You could compare it to the look of 14k and cheap fake gold. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to start looking for this paper? It could end up costing me a fortune to try every company's gold paper. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I found a pad of every-color-you-could-want mirror cardstock at - surprisingly - Walmart! Great weight, very shiny, beautiful colors, and very inexpensive. The "brand name" on it is Special Occasions or something like that (don't have the cover any more). I haven't looked at Walmart recently to see if they still carry it, but the gold is as you described...
What a good deal - $3.97 for 25 sheets. I just ordered a pack at Walmart online and can pick it up later today at my local Walmart Supercenter. Thanks, bjeans!

I just looked at that paper and it really is nice. Beautiful finish and great price. And the colors are beautiful! However, it is not "mirror" paper (the really shiny--you can actually see yourself cardstock.) I saw that its made by Neenah, but on their site I can't find any mirror paper. Wonder if they make it?
Who knew??? I've been overpaying for this on ebay. OK, here's the scoop- at 65#, this is sturdy, but not too heavy (wouldn't use it for card bases- it's great for die cutting). None of these is "mirror"- all are metallic, with a sheen, and double sided. The champagne is fabulous for a vintage look- I have printed on it and used on cards. The white gold is my go to fancy cs. I use the silvers less, but still, at this price, who can beat it??? (Wish I'd known before I bought 10 packs at $7 on ebay!)
This stuff is wonderful to use on cards. Just my opinion, but hey, you get to hear from somebody who has this and uses it a lot!
I have now got it in my wishlist on Walmart.com, so I won't lose track of it.
As to gold mirror board- what I have is the motherlode of all time of Colorbok metallic paper packs. Bought them YEARS ago at Big Lot, 50 cents for a 2 sheet pack. I went to every Big Lot in the city and bought all I found. Someday I might run out, but someday I'll die, so we'll see which happens first. It's great stuff, but it shows any & all marks, smudges, fingerprints, and it scratches very easily. That said, I still love it. I have somewhat less in other colors, silver, blue, green & red.
Searched Google, found this (click on the gold thumbnail):

Hiya, Bugga!!!
You'll LOVE the cs, it's marvelous stuff. One thing that's terrific is to find an old timey looking black & white picture (photo or drawing) online, and print it on the champagne color. It makes such a nifty vintage look! I did exactly that with a picture of ladies' gloves! (This assumes one likes a vintage look, of course)
I bought a sample pack, and when I get a good coupon, plan on buying the big gold sample pack with 10 sheets of each cs. I figure it's an easy way to have a wide selection of metallic gold in my stash. There is one that is not metallic, but all the others are. This is a great company to deal with, and they have been known to run 72% off clearance, which helped me stock up on some hefty 130# card base. I recommend getting on their email list.

Hiya right back. I just got the email that the cardstock is ready to be picked up at my Walmart!

ETA You can buy packs of just one color. And they have other metallics - like the blues look tempting.
I am not seeing ANY mirror cs on the site. There is a difference in metallic and mirror. I love the Neenah/Wausau metallics, but the OP was referring to mirror cs.
Also, the only real blue I'm seeing in the metallics is the one in the 4 color pack with the Merlot, Emerald, Steel, and Majestic Blue. That blue is a good looking color, I agree.
