I found a couple of these at our local thrift shop today for 50cents. DH got them all bent for me before he left for work.
Thank you so much for your clever idea !

my DH wanted me to tell you the trick we used to get the bend started . . .
I had him put it under the door to my craft/office while it was closed and he pulled up on it to get it started . then he finished bending it by pushing down on it on the carpet.
I don't think I can cut any wires out of ours . . . the wires are really thick unless you use a chainsaw. LOL !

Great idea for bending! I have bolt cutters, so cutting them shouldn't be a problem.

This is a cool idea. thanks for sharing. for those who would prefer gutters but can't find any wide enough, don't forget you can have a BIG PVC pipe cut in half lengthwise and then you will have 2 wide troughs.

Fantastic work, ecarged!!! I've been huntin' great ribbon storage! I, too, am blessed with OCD, so the dowel idea simply sent me runnin' off screamin'!! I can just see it now, right in the middle of a crucial techinque step, here comes ribbon un-rolling, dangling... naw, I would rip the whole holder right off the wall. ;)
I didn't see the link for ecarged great ink pad storage posted, so here it is:

You should submit that idea to a magazine, sometimes they give out prizes for smart ideas for organizing and that one rocks. I myself have a custom made ribbon rack with dowels and it works great. But I also have loads of small snippets so they are in small ziploc bags and some I have been rolling and putting in the small cropper hopper plastic boxes that go into the embellishment organizer, very cute.

Thanks so much for the great idea. I just moved and am setting up my new space now so dh has a new mini-project for later this week.

If anyone tries the double layer soon let us know how it turns out.

Never thought of it ... but think I might just give it a try. The ideas are well received here .. so you just never know.
