Hi Tara! Did you buy the plain white tiles or the tumbled ones? You can buy pretty strong magnets at Michael's ... they should hold 'em. I always put two on just to make them a little bit stronger. Crystal Effects will hold the magnets on quite well. I've never put mine in the oven so I'm not sure about the answer to that one ...

Hi Tara! Here is a neat site for magnets! I guess these will hold quite well! The 1/4" ones say they hold 2.5 pounds!!! I would use an epoxy glue or
E-6000 to hold them on. I got this link from a blog I look at and she said they were great!

I've got a roll of magnet strip from Micheal's it's about 1/2" wide and has adhesive on the back, you can cut it down to use a little or alot and it holds really well.

I bought magnets at Lowe's the same time I was buying the tiles. I just used Super Glue to glue them on. I have made magnets and coasters using Staz-On and Sharpies. I have never put them in the oven before. I have been using the coaster regularly for about 3 years now and looks as good now as the day I did it.

Hi Tara...I pulled out my notebook and found my instuctions for making tiles and it says....Stamp,color w/sharpies and bake at 350 for 20 min.

For the tumbled tiles it says: Stamp with black and bake;color and bake and then seal.

It also said to put them on the release tin foil and it heats them up faster.

I remember I did seal mine with an acrylic gloss coating.

I haven't made any in a few years, but I got all my info off SCS. I printed everything out...it was from 2004...I keep everything in notebooks!!!!No wonder I'm running out of room. Hope this helps.

Don't forget Office Max and Staples for supplies. They have the flat magnets in the shape of business cards that you can cut to size as well as the little round ones. I found a pack there when I was making place settings with a refrigerator magnet token.

Our Hobby Lobby has a great assortment of magnets and I would use an epoxy glue too! I make alot of magnets with glass beads and I love the epoxy or glass glue.
It is called:
Dimensional silicone by decorators solution. It dries clear too.
