Other brands of alcohol ink

Oh my, I’m not as talented or skillful as most. I just like Yupo, and erasing dried alcohol ink isn’t on my radar. Everyone should use what they like and can afford, without caring about legitimizing it through others’ opinions, here or in videos. Like the person who swears by glossy cardstock only, she doesn’t care if others don’t agree so more power to her! (And glossy cardstock does work; just less blooming - for me.)

I don’t even remember where I got Yupo except I’ve waited for sales. And bought the other plastic paper from Joggles.

I'm an admitted supply junkie and have a tendency to try at least a little of everything. To me, every one of the surfaces for alcohol ink is a little different: glossy cardstock, Yupo, poster board, the backside of photo paper, the front side of photo paper, the grafix plastic, the plastic poster board from Michaels - but I love 'em all. Most of my yupo stash is from Hobby Lobby when they run 40% off sales an all Tim Holtz; the rest isn't that pricey to begin with. I just know that when I'm in the mood to mess with the alcohol ink, I need to not have any preconceived notions about what I want to end up with, because I don't have the skills to control it that much. I just play with what I have and figure out how to use the backgrounds later. As far as the yupo not erasing completely, I don't care. Most of the time, I'll be adding enough color back that no one will notice the whatever tint underneath it anyway.

But just think of all the $$ you're saving without having easy access to a Blick store! Blick stores are amazing....and overwhelming as they are filled with SO much "stuff"! Popped into the San Francisco store a few months ago with a non-crafter, and we were both amazed! Couldn't spend the time I wanted to though...but good reason for another jaunt into SF!
