Looks like a neat idea. I'll have to figure out how to do it without the cuttlebug though - I usually use the folders in my Sizzix

I'm sure it will work in the Big Shot if you just figure out your "sandwich" and cardstock shims.

If you'll use this - please post here so we can see!!

I've inked up my folder before & ran it normally through were the paper is inked & embossed. So this way that you stack it, it doesn't emboss right? Thanks for sharing your wonderful idea.

That's right - I didn't close my folder so the image just "stamps" but doesn't "emboss"

Thanks for the great idea! Does anyone know if the ink stains the embossing folder?

Very cool! I love that this will allow for coordinating the embossing and the "stamping." (I'm a matchy matchy type of gal.)

TFS!

No, the ink doesn't stain the folder! Just be sure to wipe it all off after doing ---- and what's nice is the folders are just plastic so can be put under the faucet

Which inks will not stain the folder? I have Dye Inks (Vivid, Memento) and ColorBox (pigment). I think I might have one Chalk Ink but I don't love the color so I'd prefer to use the Dye Ink if it won't stain.

Any Advice?

The darker dye inks will only stain if you wait too long to clean the folder -- wash the ink off immediately (don't even wait till you finish the card) and you shouldn't have any issues.

I too have done this while embossing, but how cool to just use it as just a background stamp!! Goodbye big bulky BG stamps! Okay, not really. I keep EVERYTHING!

Thanks for posting!

I wouldn't use Stazon (But then, I hardly ever use it - don't like how it stains just about everything)

Default new use for folders

I was just wondering that if you opened your folder and flattened it like that, would it crack the folder in two pieces? I've been very cautious about opening them very far since I read a thread about someone breaking a folder like that.
