Unless there's a sneak peak that someone leaks--and there's no sneak peak yet--they won't be announced to demonstrators until April 28th at the earliest.

Check out the Spring 2014 Pantone Fashion Color Report - New York Fashion Week color forecasts. Gives you a vague idea at least. A few years ago I was in a clothing store and saw most of the InColors from SU from that year.

I'm guessing another orange and an orchid/purple of some sort. But don't quote me!!

I'm rooting for Hemlock - I still miss Sage Shadow...

Didn't even notice the Hemlock! I miss Sage Shadow too, and came too late to the party for Mint Melody. Pistachio Pudding comes close but is a bit too light.
I just wish they had more colors, period.

Oooohhhh I loved Sage Shadow. I was just looking at the Pantone colors last week and wondering too! There's a teeny tiny pic in our info about the Catalog Theater Premiere Event and you can see a container of star sequins and some look like new colors maybe but it's so hard to tell. I even enlarged it on my computer but it just blurred. Less than a month and we'll know for sure!

Wait, more colors? I still don't have all the current ink colors. :( But I'm working on that, my husband is buying me 7 ink pads tonight. And I need more storage room for these inks.

Hi Tara! Each year when the new catalog is released, we get 5 new in colors and the older set of 5 in colors from the previous catalog retires. They are on a 2 year cycle now so at any time, we have 2 sets of 5 in colors for a total of 10 in colors, in addition to our 40 core colors. So this year, the 2012-2014 In Colors will retire: Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, and Gumball Green and we'll get 5 new ones. The 2013-2015 In Colors (Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, and Crisp Cantaloupe) that were new last June will remain until next summer. I love our current program, because having them for only a year felt too short and this way we get 10 in colors at a time! Hope that makes sense!

I always buy the in color markers so I will always have every color, but I'm am now very picky on the ink pads. And I will never stock up on retiring papers again, unless it was a color I was in love with, like Baja.

Same here. I bought the Baked Brown Sugar ink pad last fall, first InColor one since 2010! I've managed for years with 4 pink/red ink pads-Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Real Red and Cherry Cobbler. I bought an extra reinker for Pretty in Pink last year. I should be good for years!

Love baked brown sugar so I may purchase that one during the coming year. I have time. I'm anxious to see the next round of in colors! I loved this last set, but not enough to buy them all.

I bought the set, too. Have used Baked Brown Sugar on practically every other card I make. This is the best SU color in years! The next most used colors are Strawberry Slush and Costal Cabana. Have not used the cantaloupe or pistachio, they just don't seem to work with the color schemes I like. As far as In--Colors go, 3 out of 5 is really good for me, so I guess I'm not displeased that I got the whole set. I was able to use hostess $ and that makes it less painful when I discover that some colors just aren't my style.

If orchid is in the next set of In-colors I may pass on the package....I detest that whimpy orchid color I've seen. Reminds me of the vapid colors in the '80's...just my 2 cents!

Same here! Except that I admit I loved it in the actual 80s
Actually I do like the paper collection pack, where you get just a few of each color; that way I can see in person which ones I like enough to order a whole package of.

The baked brown sugar card stock is definitely nice to have, though I must admit it is the ink pad that I am finding to be the hidden treasure.

The tone of the baked brown sugar ink is unlike any other brown I have in my collection. It is perfect to use when stamping sentiments because it seems to coordinate with just about any brown that happens to appear somewhere else on the card. I would call it the most user-friendly brown ink color out there.
Can't say enough nice things about it!

I love the kits they have in the annual catalog now for the in colors.. You pay $29.95 for all 5 ink pads and the assorted cardstock pack which has 4 of each color. So you are basically paying for the ink pads and getting the cardstock for free. It's been a big hit with my customers too.

Ditto for me. The cantelope color that is all the craze right now is almost exactly like a guava color from not long ago. And the pool party is just like a few other colors they have had in the past, too. I'm not complaining, but it seems silly to call them "New In Colors." They really are recycled colors from the past! So call them that? "Recycled Colors from the Past!" lol

Have you tried the smoky slate? That ink pad is the best I've ever used! I love the color and the impression is always clean. I may get baked brown sugar. I did buy a pack of the card stock and that color will be around another year yet. I'm just not stocking up on the ones going out this year.

I think Baked Brown Sugar may go into the neutrals the next time they mess with their colors. The latest color revamp last year makes me not feel secure about any of their regular colors! Isn't it true that the only colors that return are former InColors and once those get in and then eventually retire then they're gone for good?

when looking at the fashion week color forecast; I thought SU pistacho and brown sugar already look similar to the ones shown for fashion week.
Should be interesting to see what else they can come up with; has to be a major task.

They haven't addressed that as far as I know although I'd be very surprised if any of the colors ousted from the families or color collections return. However, there can also be brand new, never seen before colors added like Smoky Slate last year or Cherry Cobbler, Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso and Cajun Craze.

Oh yes, they do come up with totally new colors, Cherry Cobbler is my favorite red now and I was also happy about Smoky Slate since they retired Going Grey and I'm not as crazy about Basic Grey. I use Early Espresso more than Chocolate Chip too-but maybe I should use CC more or it may get the ax next time!

I'm such a Basic Grey addict that when they brought out Smoky Slate I thought I couldn't be bothered, but actually it's really nice! I may get the marker if you say the ink's really good... Or do you think I could get the same effect from stamping off Basic Grey once? ;)

I got very stressed and grumpy a while back cos for some reason I thought Coastal Cabana was going out with the new catalogue - then got happy again when I realised that it still has another year with us so plenty of time to make the most of it! LOL

Not last year, but a few years ago (I want to say maybe 3 or 4 years ago?) when they did a major colour revamp, IIRC, I believe SU! said that they expected to do small colour revamps every 3 years or so.
And I've been buying SU! for a good 15 years or so and I don't ever remember of them bringing back a retired colour. (Though I admit I wouldn't object if they brought back purely pomegranate.)

I would be over the moon if they could bring back Purely Pomegrante. It has to be one of my fave colors ever. Thank goodness I got reinker, but I am hoarding my little remaining cardstock! Also like the Groovy Guava; seems to go well with the Pomegrante.

I don't think you'll get the same great image that smoky slate gives.

Soft Sky was an In Colour the same year as Purely Pomegranate was, and it came back

ETA: and didn't River Rock come back too? It was also an In Colour that year!

River Rock did come back in 2010 but then they retired it for good in 2013. I really wish they would go back to 12 colors in each group. But I love color and the more, the better!

And didn't they use to have 5 colour groups in total? Earths, Subtles, Regals, Brights and Neutrals? That was nicer I think. Some of the colours would fit more naturally into Earth Elements than the other groups...

I was just looking at the catalog that was in place when I first started buying SU and all but one of those in colors is now a current regular color! Soft suede, crushed curry, melon mambo, rich razzleberry, and Bermuda bay....are current. Dusty Durango is the only one that is retired from that list.
I'm getting excited to see what new colors we will have this year. I really liked the 2013-2015 colors but as I said before, I'm only buying markers and some of the assorted card stock so I can try them occasionally.

No, I think she's right. I went to the first catalog I got when I started and there is a neutrals. It had whisper white, very vanilla, sahara sand, basic brown, going gray, basic gray and basic black. Then there was one set of in colors, and bold brights, earth elements, rich regals and soft subtles groups. I didn't remember either, until I pulled out that catalog.

I have catalogs from 2005 but I didn't get started until 2009. The earlier catalogs I found at a thrift store! I bought them for inspiration.

The 2003-2004 was my first catalog. I still have all of them as well as my minis and SAB's.
The old yearly catalogs are fun to go back and look through every once in a while. The thing that strikes me (about the book itself, not the stamp styles and how much products have changed, that's another story!) is how easy the catalogs are to read! Granted my eyeballs are ten years older now, but boy I love the black ink for the stamp images -- I've suggested to SU many times that they go back to black ink; it makes it SO much easier to read.

oh, don't get me started on the catalog layout! I miss the old Idea Book and Catalogs where you had no trouble finding products, and the print was easier to read. And the samples were inspirations to me.

Default white ink pat

I wish they still made a white inkpad. I don't have one and think it would be something I would use. They had one once didn't they?

I did buy a pack of baked brown sugar, but what I am really using a lot is the smoky slate. Really like the s. slate.

Actually SU still sells the whisper white craft inkpad. I mainly use it when I'm using white embossing powder. It's slow drying and provides a thicker coverage than their regular inks.
They also sell a staz-on pad in white -- I haven't been as productive with that one, though. It's fast drying and I don't have as much use for that kind of ink in white.
If you have the current big book they're on page 165. HTH!
