The first of the colours is called Cracked Pistachio They are announcing one per month- so that's another 12 inkpads/reinkers & pens I have to find room for, lol. Glad I'm not into dabbers/paint/stains as well!

I'm with you! I pre-ordered January's color and included a note in my order to say "just automatically send me the color of the month when you get them in!"
I haven't gotten January yet but I love the cracked pistachio.

Where did you get to "pre-order" or have them send out the color each month? Is it on Ranger's website? Please do tell! LOL... I just gotta have em!

Peezie - there are probably other companies that have them, but Marco Paper has the option on their website to order these in advance. If you click this LINK you'll get to the page for January, and in the sidebar under "Related Items" you'll see selections for upcoming months.
You can choose to order single items or the entire set of items for the month (inkpad, reinker, marker, stain, spray stain, and paint). Here's an explanation from their blog about how it will work:
Quote: So here’s what we have decided to do . . . and hopefully it will make everyone happy.
I have created an “item” on our site for each Distress Color of the Month – you’ll find all of them by clicking this link. Of course, right now only one of those 12 has a color attached – but another will be updated each month once the color is announced. You’ll be able to order single items (ink pad, reinker, paint, stain, spray stain or marker) at the MSRP – or all six for 20% Off the MSRP – and either way, we’ll ship them free in the Continental U.S.
For those of you who want all of them sight unseen, you have two options – you can place your order online for a single month or all twelve (again, single items at MSRP or all six at 20% Off). If you place the order online, you’ll pay for everything at once and be done with it. The other option is to place your order by phone at 1-888-433-5239 (wait until Monday – we aren’t there now), tell us what you want each month (single items or all six), and then we’ll charge your card for each month’s items as they ship.
I hope this makes sense – it was confusing me as I typed it but I’m really trying to provide every possible option.
One last thought – which I think will answer a question that at least a few of you might ask. I considered setting up one bulk item so you could order the whole year at once – but many of you have already ordered the January color and I decided it would get confusing. So I listed each month individually. |
I've ordered from them in the past and they have great customer service

The Frantic Stamper. Fran is awesome with her customer service. She had the set advertised for pre-order right after CHA. I ordered, and then left her a note to say that I wanted them automatically every month. She can do it with Paypal.
Now I have not received January yet, but I know it will be a couple of more weeks. Expected delivery was the end of January but that may have gotten moved up a bit. (it usually does right after CHA)
Hope this helps.

OOPS. I made a mistake. It's a little embarrassing. I ordered the distress ink from the Funkie Junkie, not Frantic Stamper. But I stand by what I said about Frantic Stamper, great company to work with.
Sorry for the wrong info.

I have switched over to the minis. I'm hoping these new colors come available in the mini size sometime soon. So far, I love the pistachio and the coral colors.

Hate waiting for minis
I don't understand why they don't just release the mini's with the other new color items. They've just switched to an open stock system for the mini's, so it would seem natural to continue that with these new colors. I hate having to wait 4 months for colors just because I don't buy the large size.

They didn't "switch" to open stock, they added it as an option. The 4-ink kits will still be available.

I have all the others, why stop now? I got a call this afternoon and cracked pistachio is waiting for me at my LSS. I told her to go ahead and put me down for all of them as they come in. Did you all see the combination of squeezed lemonade and abandoned coral in the introduction video? I see beautiful inked sunsets in my future.

Yes, I have all the colours so far, so just for the sake of having the complete set I'll be ordering them all. He's got us well and truly hooked, hasn't he? Agree with Anne, at least one a month is easier on the wallet than a dozen all at once.

In regards to the Tim Holtz Distress new monthly color release, Oozak.com takes preorders. Their price for each set is $22 and some change. (The March color should be released soon but don't see that up for preorder yet. I guess it has to be released first before they wave the wand for us to buy!) They've been swamped with people preordering so Jan and and hopefully Feb will start going out Feb 25th. Its worth the wait to save $2-$3 or more on a set. You can also order individually much cheaper than any other place I've looked. Ordering all items individually still comes out the same as if you bought the whole enchalada at once.
