I just got an email from 'Oh My Craft!'. Sizzix has a new Big Shot coming out. It is the same specs as the present Big Shot, just new design on the housing. Like the Vintaj was a Big Shot but had a different outside. The cost will be $119 but OMC has a pre-order price of $89.99 with an additional discount of 20%. It will start shipping to buyers in March/April. (whenever the ship comes into port)

Is it the Big Shot Pro? Currently, OMC sells the Big Shot for $59.99, so why is the new 2x more? I'm only asking because I'm thinking about getting one and wondering if this new version is worth the extra money and worth waiting for. I couldn't find a preorder version on OMC so maybe it's exclusive to those on the mailing list? I unsubscribed because I was getting 2-3 mails a day :(

It's not the BS Pro. As I said, it looks like it's a regular BS but with a different housing.

apparently the new big shot includes the extended platform and that is why is it more expensive. otherwise it is just a different color.

I thought a new one would be coming out....you can get a new Big Shot right now online on Amazon and Ebay for about $60. I noticed that the Ebay item is being sold by Overstock and they have over 1000 units available. Also, this week Micheal's has 40% off on Sizzix, including the Big Kick (I don't think they carry the Big Shot.)

A extended Multi-purpose platform is supposed to become available in April. The regular price will be $39.99. Saw this info on the Sizzix website.

I guess having the 'clip' on Tab 2 and having to buy Tab 1 separately was not too well received. I know the clip on plate is such a thin sheet that it 'buckles' when it goes between the rollers. In his Vagabond demo video, Tim Holtz does say that it is a consumable so will need to be replaced eventually.
