Default Nestibilities

Could someone explain to me what I need to buy in the Nestibilities? I want to cut and emboss. Does each set do both? I like the rectangle and the ovals. Do I need the large and the small. What is the difference in using the large and the small. I have a cuttlebug that I would be using them with. Would appreciate any help as this is all new to me. Thanks.

I have been using Nestabilities with my Cuttlebug. Love them as I can see the image or the words that I am cutting around.

I didn't buy the embossing mat, but think that I "need" to get one soon. From what I understand, you would cut out the shape first, using the usual cutting pads -- A, B, C. Then you would leave the shape in the die, put the foam type of pad from Nestabilities into the machine instead of one of the cutting pads, and run the shape through the machine one more time. The inner (smooth) edge of the die will leave and embossed line just a fraction of an inch inside the shape.

You need the tan polymer mat(s). You only need one at a time with your Cuttlebug, but they come in a set of 2 for about $7.

Here is where I got mine:

I strongly recommend that you read ellen hutson's blog www.ellenhutson.typepad.com from a few months ago. she has pictures, explanations, the whole nine yards.

You do not need mulitple sets. One set of rectangles will enable you to cut and emboss. However, if you want plain edges and scalloped edges you should get one of each in the same size. I hope that makes sense.

I don't have the nestabilities == yet!

If you buy, for example, one set of scalloped circles, you will be able to stack or mat the scalloped circles at 1/4" increments. If you buy both sets of the scalloped circles you will be able to stack or mat the scalloped circles in increments of 1/8". All the Spellbinders nestability sets work in this way.

I hope this helps!

That makes perfect sense to me Kim! Thank you; I was wondering what the difference was between the large and small too.

Has anyone tried the Nestablilites dies with the Sizzix Big Kick? I just ordered a set of the Nestabilities and the tan polymer mats, but I'd appreciate some guidance as to how to sandwich everything with my Big Kick. I'd guess it's like the Cuttlebug, since I use other Cuttlebug products with the Big Kick.
