Question Nestabilities question

I am using the nestabilities in the Big Shot for the first time today. I can cut ok but each time I am getting a slight embossed impression, is this normal ?
I thought I would be able to get a plain cut and if I wanted an embossing impression I would just run it back through using the impressions mat.

I use the big shot to cut my nesties also and I use the Big Shot multipurpose platform. When I cut one and I dont want any embossing I use Tab 1 instead of Tab 2 and insert a shim(just a piece of cardstock)to cut the nestie out. That has been the only way I don't have a faint impression on the paper.Hope this helps!
