Default Machine Opinions PLEASE!

I am interested in cutting and embossing with Sizzix, Brass Templates, Quickutz no larger than 4x4.

I have a Big Shot but it can be so fussy with so many kinds of platforms. Sometimes it cuts and embosses great but I seem to waste more cardstock. It is heavy and travel is not so easy.

Will any of the following machines would you suggest if any?
Cuttle Bug V2
Big Shot If there is a smaller one
Quikutz
Sizzix Side Kick Machine
Sizzix Texture Boutique
Spellbinder Grand Calibur

Thanks,
Tana

I have the Big Shot & Cuttlebug. I love my Cuttlebug the most because it's small, light and I think the plates are easier to work with. I use my Big Shot for my fabric work mainly. If I had to replace I would buy the Cuttlebug first. The only con is you have to suction it down constantly.

I did have a Sizzix Sidekick. It's really nice but your limited to what you can use in size. I don't think it will take 4x4 plates. I might be wrong. Upsetting week and I am scattered in my thoughts.

I don't have the Spellbinders or Quikutz machine. The Sizzix Boutique only embosses but I have heard stories of crafters being able to cut Nesties with it.

I think if you are wanting something to be portable I would go with the Cuttlebug. I have had the BigShot, the Sidekick, the Quickutz Revolution and the Cuttlebug and it is by far the most portable of the machines. The BigShot is big and heavy and like you said a bit fussy with the platforms. The sidekick wont emboss embossing folders it's not wide enough. The Quickutz was an okay machine I really liked it because of the magnetic platform but in the end my Cuttlebug won out over them all. I had to downsize my room to make way for baby and the only one that is still in the house is the Cuttlebug because it can do anything that I want it to do.
