So have you seen the decorative accents from Michaels that look just like dew drops but cost about 2 buck for a bag of 500? I can not take credit for finding them but I just thought I would bring it to your attention. I have them in pink, yellow, clear, purple, blue, green and orange. They are in the dept with candles. My michaels was clearancing them.
Thanks for the info about the postage being higher.
I love the clear ones that I can color the bottoms of with my Sharpie markers and make them look lots of colors!!! I've mailed off several cards with them on it and have not paid higher postage and non have been returned for more postage nor delivered with postage due. I put a piece of cardboard (cereal box) over my card to buffer. Keeping my fingers crossed for continued luck!
I've been sticking them on everything too! I make more altered items than cards though so I don't have to worry about the shipping issue. I just love those things!
They really are lovely, and I haven't had an issue with mailing them. I just insert a piece of 5 1/4" x 4" chipboard (or cereal box or whatever I have on hand!) over the card front, and insert it into the envelope. It's a great little trick to "smooth" the embellishments down enough that you don't have to worry about paying extra on postage.
I received some from someone in the WishRAK group. I, too, had bought some from Michael's but they are just not the same, lol. The real Dew Drops are smaller & much cuter.
But I'm cheap, so I will continue to use the pseudo drops from Michaels
Another way to change the color on the clear ones is to use a hole punch (1/4" for the ones from Michaels ~ you'd have to use a smaller size for the real ones) on whatever cardstock you want the color to be, then use CE to glue them on. I've also used Stickles to glue them on, then from the top they look all sparkly & pretty
Michelle, I like your stickles idea. I'll have to try it. I have the real thing, but will go to Michaels tomorrow if I get a coupon (my excuse to dh) and look for the fake ones.

I had never heard of 'dew drops' until this thread and saw some samples. Now I might have to make a visit to Michaels to puchase their version of them!
I was at Impress this morning and the gal was working on a card where she used Stickles to glue on the dew drops. It was very cute!
I was on another forum where someone mentioned she used Stickles with her dew drops and they came off later. You may want to check your cards before mailing them.
I have the cheap-o ones from Michaels and I like them, don't love them. Some are a little off (not totally flat or round), but most of them work well. I would recommend them if you want to use the only occasionally (which is my usuage level).
Could someone, that uses the Michael ones, post a card so we could see the difference between those and the REAL ones??l And, how big would you say the REAL ones are??Do they vary in size or are they all the same??
Here's a photo of a dew drop (in pearl) next to the Michaels one (in purple) I just bought a ton more of the Michaels ones. I love the dew drops as well, but they just increased there prices and are giving a smaller amount in the bottles now so I think they will be for special occasion cards. :-)
I love them and was putting them on EVERYTHING until I went to mail an A2 size card. Oh boy. Talk about high postage because of these little baubles.
So now I only use them for hand delivered cards or I warn the person I sell the card too, regarding the very high postal rate.
They are darn cute, aren't they?
I didn't realize that there was extra postage on the cards using them. I've just been putting on the regular postage and nothing has come back to me YET! Hopefully, they were all received ok!

Thanks so much for the tip, Marsha. I dashed myself right over to Michaels and got 4 bags. Yippee. Now I shall apply them to everything in sight!

Thanks, Julie. What a great idea to color the clear ones. I just got a new set of all colors of Sharpies at Staples recently, too.

Alert!! May 1 shipping rates are changing at allthatscraps. It will be free on US orders over $25....so you have until April 30 to take advantage of free shipping on $10!
I saw these on a card yesterday and thought 'how pretty!' Thanks everyone for all your input about the Dew Drops. Guess they are just more items to put on my wish list. It just grows and grows!
o.k. apparently no one is having the same problem with dew drops that I have. I absolutely love the look of them, but they come off of the cards I put them on all the time. I use Aileens tacky glue. What do you gals glue them on with? Also, the glue is often messy and when you smoosh the drop on the card, the glue tends to spread out and gets on the outside of the drop. Any ideas?

I use the Tombow Mono-Multi liquid in the green and white bottle. I just put a tiny spot where I want the drop to be, and then use tweezers to gently "plop" the drop down. I let it sit for a minute or two before I press it with my finger. I have not had any of mine come off.
I also like this same glue for my card layers.

Mmm, this Tombow stuff sounds like exactly what I need. Where do I buy it?
Yes, it really is awesome stuff!! I order mine from Scrapbookpal (item #52190). Shipping is free over $25, so pick up a couple bottles, then fill your cart with stickles, primas & glimmer mist  Ooh, and you can even get a free bottle with the code "bestglueever" (hopefully that's still valid - just enter it on the view cart page)
BTW, I prefer to put the drop of adhesive on the dew drop rather than the paper itself - I've found that there's less "oozage" that way.
