Default which ink pads?

I am waiting for my TAC (the angel company) kit to arrive and have been trying to decide which ink pads I'll want to purchase

I assume the regular TAC pads are sorta like the classic SU pads?

NO MATTER WHAT COMPANY you demo for (or if you are a customer), which colors could you not do without?

AND

if given the choice, would you rather have a few pads or a set of all of the ink spots?

I started with the stampin' spots that way you can have every color and whatever one you use the most then you can buy a bigger one.

Default favorite colors

I only know SU colors, but I can tell you that I prefer the Bold Brights colors to the others. I'm also a big fan of the Earth Elements colors, but I use those more in the fall. My favorite colors overall are Ballet Blue, Old Olive, Summer Sun, Real Red, Lovely Lilac, and Pink Passion. Some close seconds are Marvelous Magenta, Taken w/ Teal, Brilliant Blue and Green Galore. These are the colors I use the most. Good luck deciding! I find that it helps to decide what stamp sets you want first and then see what colors would go with that theme. Also, I like to go through the catalog and see what color schemes catch my eye. Write down all of your favorite samples and the colors that are used in them, and see if there are some of the same colors repeated in those samples.

I was told the regular TAC pads are like SU classic. However I chose the palette hybrid ink pads. Even though they don't come in spots you can use them for anything. I asked a lot of TAC demos and all said palette pads. They dry fast just like the classic ink pads but work like stazon. Except you can use them on fabrics where stazon you can't. These pads are awesome, there is nothing they don't work on. Just my 2 cents worth

Default Tac Stamps pads

They are nothing like SU pads. They are made by Stewart the same company that makes Memories Pads. In fact some of the colrs are the same with a new name.
Examples:
TAC's Name Memories Name
Sunset = Orange
Forget me not = Soft Lilic
Tropical Blue = Turquoise
Peaches & Cream = Soft Peach
Moonstruck = Violet
All American Blue = Blue
Butter Cream = Vanilla
Rolling Hills = Leaf

Default Colors I couldn't do without....

In my NSHO, I just could *not* scrap without the following colors...but bear in mind that I have a preference for an antiqued, aged look.

Black
Caramel / Cafe Au Lait
Mid-tone plum
Deep-tone plum
Light-tone plum
Mid-tone Grey
Mid-tone Buff (yellow-hued beige)
Mid-tone Olive
Deep-tone Olive
Light-tone Olive
Deep-tone Black-Green
Deep-tone Black-Blue
Knock-Me-Down-And....Me Red
Espresso Brown
Cranberry Red

Just know that these are my own personal faves...that and $4.85 will get you a Starbucks Frappuccino... ~ K

i agree with momofdbl. I LOVE the hybrid inks. in fact, i'm thinking of getting rid of the dye inks that i have. I'm hoping that when the new catty comes out, they will add the metallic colors!! (crossing fingers)

Colors I use alot:

noir
burnt umber
french lilac
claret
chartreuse
violette
prussian blue

Doesn't TAC carry Brilliance inks as well? I love cosmic copper, grahite black, platninum planet and the crimson.

I tried the Palette inks at a local RS convention. I really liked the black (noir). I think it's better than SU Basic Black but I have never been really thrilled with my Basic Black stamp pad.

Is this a GOOD or bad thing?

I have to say, I have never used any stamp pads besides the ones from SU, including Stazon and the multi colored kali pads....I don't know how you gals can tell the difference in quality with ink pads...guess I haven't tried enough different ones to know.

I want to do lots of watercoloring and pencil coloring(w/gamasol) SO...

WHAT IS THE BEST TYPE OF TAC INK TO USE FOR THESE TECHNIQUES?
(sorry, not holloring...just want to highlight my question)
