I bought the glue glider pro and LOVED it. I immediately ordered 12 refills for it. Now some of the refills don't work - you can't get them to roll out the adhesive. Is anyone else having problems with this product?
Not sure if you meant the tape broke, or the whole cartridge. The tension will vary from cart to cart. It is a pain to redo the tape, but possible. Just for giggles, you can use ATG tape in your Glue Glider... with some of the tape removed, it fits in an old cart & is much cheaper.
I'm using up my refills and then switching over to my soon to arrive pink ATG. I noticed the Perma Tac doesn't on as evenly as I'd like and as I got towards the end of the refill, the whole thing sort of stuck and wouldn't roll.

Good grief, how do you do this? How much tape do you need to pull off before it will fit?
I hate throwing away the whole cartridge, seems so wasteful. If you could use ATG tape without the expense of the gun, that would be nice too.
I have had my ATG gun for nearly 10 years. It is totally worth the investment. The original one (not the pink one) is industrial grade - it is intended for professional art galleries and custom frame shops to use. It is made to withstand daily use and I have never, ever had a problem with any of my ATG tape.
You have to unwind about a 1/4 of ATG tape to fit in the GGP gun. I just wound it up as I was taking it off. I'll put it in a smaller tape runner, so it won't go to waste. It took about 15 mins. to get the ATG tape in the cartridge, but that was my first time. It's worth the time to me because the GGP tape is $.32 a foot, and the ATG tape I bought was $.02/ft. Yes, I know it would be less time consuming to just buy an ATG gun, but I was unwilling to spend the $40-$50. The GGP gun cost me $10, and it is a better size for me and my space.
I make a lot of projects in bulk and go through alot of adhesive. I order the Glue Glider Pro refills by the dozen and have only had one problem. I sent it back and promptly received another in the mail.

I did the same thing. It took me awhile to realize that I needed to tape the used end to the take-up reel to get it to stay. Once I did that, it worked very well. To get the roll of tape small enough to fit, I just used it in my ATG until it was the right size. I love my ATG, but sometimes I like to use the GG on smaller projects.
I have not had a problem with the cartridges so far, but I am having problems with the adhesive! A bunch of my cards are falling apart and I am really dismayed. They were adhered with the strongest one - I can never remember which is high-tac and which is perma-tac - the one I am using comes off in a continuous band with cuts every 1/16 of an inch.
I am really depressed about this. How does the ATG tape compare to the GGP tape mentioned above for strength of the bond? If it is a stronger adhesive it would be worth the investment. I cannot afford to use Scor-Tape (name brand or generic!!!) on everything - Help!!!
I'll tell ya, the Duck brand tape runners were wonderful and not overly expensive in a four-pack. The paper would rip before stuff would fall off the card! Then they "improved" the formula.... :(
Several people have posted that they do use the tape without the gun.

You can. I have a friend who works at a frame shop and one of the women there uses it without and just tears it. It takes some getting used you but you can. It's just not as convenient.
Just hung up from GlueArts -- and very nice lady is sending me replacement rolls for my GGP. I just hope they work. Can't fault their customer service, though, the lady was super nice.
Yes, Glue Arts customer service is fabulous, they are sending me replacement cartridges as well and asked if I could send some of my projects that have come apart a while after being created.
I told them I don't think it is the cartridges, but rather the humidity because everything seems firmly adhered when I make it, but they are sending me two new cartridges anyway with a prepaid return mailer for my current cartridge and examples.
In an email she said they stand behind their product 100% and are continuously striving for improvement. Very impressive!
I am also going to try burnishing down my layers a bit more. I stick them down and press, but it is pressure sensitive adhesive so I think I am going to try a longer and firmer pressure. We'll see if that helps!
I will have to remember this when I purchase my GGP refills. I purchased my GGP from Archiver's earlier this month & am still using the roll of tape that came with it.

I had initially bought the Glue Glider Pro and the perma tac & value tac refill. The back of the perma tac refill tape showed 1/16" strips, but I did not get that, it was the 1/4" squares. When I contacted the company they said they had changed the tape but not the packaging. Very misleading. I'm having major issues with the tape going on smoothly & continuously. When I mentioned the difficulty of use, they pretty much told me tough poop. I should not be inconvenienced to return or exchange products if they had made it properly. I have yet to use the value tac, but I'm not holding my breath. So I am stuck with a glue gun & 2 tapes. I have since bought two mega runners and am very pleased with them.

FYI. I bought a ATG gun from tape jungle. Works well and cheap. Less than $20. Also found a ATG gun on clearance at Michaels. It's my backup. Sometimes I have found them at thrift stores.
