Something to keep in mind with embossing powders is that they come in different thicknesses. It is actually small pieces of plastic that melt, and the thickness is determined by the size of the pieces. If you want to emboss very detailed images, I recommend detail embossing powder, it will say that on the label. Regular is fine for most images. Ultra Thick Embossing is intended for completely coating something to give it a glass effect, the broken glass effect, or you can actually melt a pile of it and while it is still hot, press a rubber stamp into it (leave it alone until cool) and you will have the imprint of the stamp. There are many ways to use this fun stuff, just wanted to give you a little info to help you buy just what you need.
I have not found much difference between brands.
