I have to get my boho blossom punch replaced. It will not punch at all!
Has anyone else had problems with this punch?
I had a very stiff corner rounder punch (the old one) for several years; I bought the newer one and it works great. ???????
SU! punches have me shaking my head. My photo corner punch is a stiff one too. If I had arthritis in my hands, I would not be able to use some of their punches.
That's a bummer. I've never had a problem with my SU punches. In fact I find them easier to use then the ones I have from other vendors.
But before you give up, have you tried sharpening it with aluminum foil? Either punch through a piece of heavy duty foil, or double a piece of regular foil, a few times. Hopefully it will fix your problem.
Mine has been replaced too. Even then it still does not work as well as other SU punches. I kept the replacement, used foil and then wax paper, it helped a bit but still is harder than other punches to use.
Will try the foil trick to see if it is any better. But when I try it on SU! cardstock, all I get is a faint outline of where the punch is trying to cut the paper. First time I have had this happen to me.
I do like SU! punches, but it seems to be hit or miss with me. I have some great ones....then have some that are harder to punch. Takes some real muscle! (of which I have little! tee hee, flipping hair).
I had a problem with the SU scalloped circle punch. I received it for my bday in Aug, used it a couple of times and then a couple of weeks ago punched a bunch for the kids class valentine treats and the punch got stuck. I had to push up from the bottom to get it to unstick. My demo said it was too late to contact SU since it was over 90 days. She ended up giving me hers and she is going to contact the manufacturer directly. Thank god for my wonderful demo.
I would think that SU should exchange items like that for way longer than 90 days. Punches should last you a lifetime or at least a few decades.
I read on here to also try powdered graphite in the punch, I think Rox70 is the one that posted about it. You basically put it into your punch where it is sticking and then you have to punch on scrap paper until you get the excess powder out. You might do a search on here about graphite powder?

I ordered this and I hope it works when I get it! I know my demo will replace it but I just hope it works the first time.
What is graphite powder and where do you get it?
I had a slit punch that was leaving little oil circle marks when I used it on my paper. My demo contacted SU and they sent me a brand new one. I didnt even have to send them the defective one, which I saved just in case this one breaks. I figure I can always turn the paper over

It's a lubricant, you should be able to get it at any hardware store.

I had this same thing happen to me!!
As long as you contact your demo within 30 days.
I just got my recent order with the Boho punch-I must test it out today. And I also have to put together my ink caddy.
I have had no problems with SU replacing their punches - even after 90 days. I just went to use my slit punch and it won't punch at all - the inner piece seems to be getting stuck on the inner edge - doesn't even make a mark on the cardstock. I have used it a handful of times and I bought it awhile ago (can't remember when but I am sure it was before Christmas) and my demo contacted SU and they are sending me a replacement - no problems, and I don't have to send in the defective one (not that I can use! but still)
I too have had problems (especially recently) with SU punches. My first issue was with a small square punch, that I had for 2-3 years before any problems. Due to having it so long, I didn't make any attempt to return it.
This weekend I had a problem with the Boho Blossoms punch, not cutting through paper and just being overall difficult to use. I have used it others times with no issues, and tried the foil technique to no avail. So -that one will be returned. :(
This morning I went to use the 1 3/8 circle punch, again, that I have used over the last couple weeks with no issues - and am having the same problem!
This is getting to be beyond frustrating - and seems like this is a common issue with others as well, which makes it all the more so.
I just love all of my SU! punches and have never had a problem with any of them. However as with any other product there will be duds that is just what happens there is no way to prevent a product every now and then from being defective. I am sure SU! will be more than willing to fix any issue with their products. I am not a Demo but have had to return a few items over the six years I have been a customer and they have have always been great!
My friend has a Boho Blossoms punch that I used this weekend and it would cut but didn't seem very sharp or something. The flowers all had kind of ragged edges. Maybe I should let her know about the foil trick.
Just so you know, that any punch with more intricut cuts in them will punch harder due to the detail in the metal. I had a problem with my scallop punch and my Spring Flowers punch last year, had them both replaced still punched hard, but realized that this was the reason. I have never had problems with any of the others because they are pretty "basic" shapes. I have the BOHO punch and it does punch harder, but it punches fine, so if you are still having problems with bad edges or not cutting at all get it replaced.
Hope the foil worked for you, if not you need to contact your demo for help. Good luck with your punches.
I tested my new Boho Blossom punch. It works but I really have to push to get it to punch. I ran wax paper through it a number of times but it still is difficult to punch on cardstock.
i'm having trouble w/mine too, can't just hold it in one hand and flip it over to see where you are punching-I had to actually put it on the floor and push down very hard, not like my spring blossom punch at all and that was more detailed/intricate than this one. I'm calling for an exchange today.

Mine is also really hard to punch. They sent me another one and it is just as hard to punch. I have to push with two hands, grit my teeth, make the "into labor" sounds while the punch is resting on the table, just to get a few punched flowers.
The flowers are not as intricate as the Spring Blossoms, so I don't believe that is the issue. Maybe they are using cheaper steel or something. I gave up. I'm not going to ask for another replacement. This is just like the Very Vanilla ink pad. I just don't think they are going to get any better.
Call your demo (if you aren't one), I was just advised that they did have some issues with some of the more recent batches, and will be sending me a new one to replace mine.

I just got mine the other day and hadn't used it yet. When I noticed your post I tested it. It is stiff. The blossoms come out with the edges a little bit curled. However, I wouldn't consider it a dud or send it back because the little blossoms flatten out easily. It is rather stiff though. Before I bought this, I did a project that involved cutting all the little blossoms out with scissors - quite tedious! I would say my punch is stiff, but does the job.
