Do you like your Impression Obsession Mega Mount Acrylic Block?
I just got my first order from Impression Obsession and I must say I'm quite pleased with the quality of the clear stamps. I'll be ordering from them again. Shipping was quite reasonable to Canada. This might be a bad thing for my bank account LOL!
On their site, the Mega Mount Acrylic Block and the Cover-a-card stamps caught my eye. I think the video tutorial sold me.
I'd like to hear if others have this item and if they like it. Was it worth the $25 cost for the block? Or does anyone know if this item ever goes on sale on the Impression Obsession website or any of the other sites that carry it?
Thanks for your input.

Love it! I got mine on sale...at their big yearly sale.
What time of year do they do this yearly sale - Black Friday I suppose? I'm way over my crafting budget so need to find as many sales as possible to spread my dollar pretty darn thin!
Thanks!

Definitely worth the money, especially if you are thinking of buying the Cover-a-Card stamps or have other large stamps that you use. I use mine all the time! The annual sale is usually in November or December... last year it went from Nov. 24th-28th and the year before was Dec. 14th-20th. Usually 20% off all stock, and a variety of single stamps and sets on clearance. Sometimes some extras like inks or demo stamps.
Leslie - Scrapy Land - Quickutz, Sizzix, Go Kreate, Spellbinders Mega Store! carries these at a small discount off the price on Impression Obsession's website (the block is $21.25). You might have to create an account and log in to see the lowest price, though. They do ship to Canada, but I'm not sure what the shipping charges would be. I have ordered from them and was very happy with their service (even though the spelling of the company name makes me just a little insane).
The discount isn't as much as the big sale mentioned here, but you also won't have to wait 'til November or December for it

Thanks, I'll be checking those sites. I think I have one site with the block down to $22 plus 10% off, and free shipping if I ship it to my daughter in MA if I spend over $50. If I ship it through them to Canada, shipping would be almost $40 on a $60 order. I wish there was a way the US companies could offer the same free shipping to Canada as they do to the mainland USA states, or at least a good discount.

Maybe I'm not dextrous, or something, but I hate mine... took it back after I couldn't get a single good image with it. Owner of the shop said they all come back, and she can't even get it to work right. Perhaps it was a bad batch?

Oh no, don't tell me that. I can't walk and chew gum at the same time so there might not be any hope for me LOL! It looked so easy in the YouTube video. I hope it is as easy as it looks and hopefully it was a bad batch as you suggested.
Thanks!

Make sure you watch a video on how to use them correctly, because it is different from a flat acrylic block. Once you get the hang of it, it is incredibly helpful for large backgrounds as well as those large stamps that are so difficult to get a crisp image with. I wouldn't even bother using BG stamps if I didn't have the MM, they are such a pain!

I agree!
I use it for every large stamp I own. I've always had problems getting backgrounds to stamp evenly until the Mega Mount came out.

A couple of tips from me.... I don't always get a clean impression just holding onto the handle and rocking across once. Not sure if it is a pressure problem or because I'm short - there's often one corner that doesn't print well if I just try to do it in one pass. Because of that, I start slowly, putting down the side closest to me first and put even pressure along the sides as I rock the block away from me. That works. Also, misting the background stamp lightly with water after inking helps the ink 'take' better to cardstock. Just don't mist too much, or you'll lose your pattern!
I really wanted to like mine, but I much prefer the Fiskars stamp press -- the ones with the spongy feet. I get a much better impression. They come in two sizes. If you can try one before you buy one, that would be very helpful. I also use my large backgrounds just laying flat and taking the paper to the stamp, but then I have arthritis in my hands and have trouble with hand strength. Good luck!
Well, I'm glad to say mine arrived today and I practiced with it tonight. I love it! In fact, I love it so much, I ordered two more stamps for it and two more for my mom. She hasn't had a chance to try hers out yet but I know she'll like it too.
My original order came from Scrapy Land and this is a shout out to say thanks for the prompt shipping and answering of my questions. The shipping to Canada was quite reasonable. My only complaint was the acrylic Mega Mounts could have been packed a bit better in the box. There were two and they had no buffer between them. One rubbed against the other and scratched the face of one of the blocks. I was going to mention my concern to the company but it doesn't really affect the use of the block and I would have dropped it or scratched it myself sooner or later anyway.
Happy stamping!

So the MMs weren't in a package? They are shipped in individually in plastic packaging to the stores. It definitely won't affect the usage, but I guess the store was trying to save you postage money? Try using any of your cling or clear stamps with it..it works great with all of them. Glad you love it! I love mine, too.

No, they weren't wrapped in any way. In the box were the two mounts, and two stamps for it which were in a cellophane package, and a a balled up piece of packing paper. I suspect you're right, that they weren't wrapped to help with the weight of the box. If the two mounts weren't side by side in the box with the fronts touching each other, they would have been fine. The balled up packing paper wasn't all that tight so there would have been some movement inside the box during transit. Not a big deal though and I'm very happy with my purchase.

I LOVE my Mega Mount acrylic block! It's fabulous, and I have about a dozen of the background stamps, too. But, as mentioned it works really well with ALL your large background stamps, both clear and cling-mounted.
And someone mentioned about that their LSS owner said they all get returned. I manage a stamping store and have never had one come back! It is a little costly, but well worth the money. I have customers that save up their frequent shopper cards so they end up getting it for free when they have enough cards!
I just ordered a bunch of Cover-a-Card stamps from Scrapy-Land where they are discounted anyway, PLUS they have a 15% of everything coupon today and tomorrow (let me enable you - 15% off storewide through June 30, 2011, coupon code SUMMER15). Scrapy-Land Impression Obsession
But the Mega-Mount is not in stock.
Are there any other places that carry the Mega-Mount at a discount? Scrapy-Land is out of both the Mega-Mount and many of the Cover-A-Card stamps that I'd like. I don't want to pay full price, it is much easier to live with my craft spending if I can convince myself it's a bargain, lol!

I'm kind of relieved that they're out of stock of a lot of the patterns but for my selfish reason of not having any extra money to take advantage of the sale :-) I can't wait to add more to my collection. Love the cover-a-card patterns. They're so versatile.
