Cutting Cricut Cartridge Items with SCAL
Two weeks ago, my sweet husband presented me with the machine and software of my choice as early Christmas presents! There is no turning back to Cricut!
I've already learned, thanks to my job as a sign and monument designer, using an awesome program called Omega, a Gerber Plotter, and Edge Printer, how to convert just about anything to a vector file to cut with my new Sizzix eClips.
However, I do own 20 Cricut cartridges and I'd like to be able to cut stuff from them with my SCAL software and my Sizzix eClips. (My Cricut, according to ProvoCraft, is on its last legs.)
A long, long time ago, way before I thought I'd every purchase a Sizzix eClips and SCAL software....I read somewhere how to "export" cuts to an SVG-based program like SCAL.
The process had something to do with placing cuts on the Cricut mat and then somehow saving and then reopening in SCAL. The individual called it the "backdoor method" I believe.
Can ANYBODY help me with this?
If not, I guess I could always physically cut items with my Cricut, copy them with my printer/copier, and save as a jpeg. I could then convert them in Inkscape for use with SCAL and my Sizzix eClips. (WOW, just the thought of doing this is overwhelming!)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
