Talking Cutter questions

Hi everyone,

I was wondering Is there a shape Cutter Where you add different size shape. If so, what kind shape can be added? What brand of cutter is this? I Know there is a circle one different size circles, but what else is there? Who make the best one? How much do they cost? who has the most shapes? I am not talking about the sizzix I am talking about different cutters. The cutter is For like mattie, mats for frames borders.
Thanks,
Linda Littlepage

I don't know for sure which is best. The ones they sell at the good stamping scrapping store here are the "Quickutz" and the "Sizzix." You said that you were not talking about Sizzix, but I would like to point out the difference:
* with Quickutz you have to pick up the gadget in both hands to change the shapes. with Quickutz you have to squeeze hard with both hands to make it cut. http://www.quickutz.com/Public/About/WhatIs.asp
* with Sizzix, it sits on your table so it's easier to change shapes. and with Sizzix you only have to pull the handle down to make it cut. http://www.sizzix.com/

Linda,

It sounds like you're looking for cutting systems vs die cut systems. Some possibilities are the Creative Memories (CM), Coluzzle & Fiskars. There may be others but nothing else is coming to mind right now. There are a lot of threads that address the pro's & con's. From what I've read, it sounds like:

CM - May be one of the easiest to use. On the downside there are few shapes available and you'll have to find a demo to purchase it.

Coluzzle - Probably the widest variety of shapes available. But it is a bit tricky to use and you do have to cut the little tabs left from the templates. This is what I use most and I really like mine. But it's definitely not perfect.

Fiskars - Probably gets the most negative comments of all the systems. I have one and find it OK. There are a moderate number of templates available, but it does have plenty of challenges.

HTH!
