Default crystal effects

I love crystal effects, but it's such a pain to unstick the applicator each time I want to use it. I like to keep the hole small so I've got control and it doesn't gush out all at once, but each time I use it, it takes a lot of poking with a pin to unstop the applicator. Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions?

I keep a pin stuck in the end when I'm not using it, AND I know that others have had the pin rust and ruin the CE, but I have never had that happen. Maybe the pin I'm using is made of something different than what others are using (it is very old...came from my MIL's sewing kit she used when her kids were little).

Now other people have said they have some luck w/ keeping it unclogged by storing the bottle upside down.

Good luck!
