Thank you ladies! I haven't needed to use my cricut ~ well ever, until last night & I needed 75 shapes to put angels on. Since I couldn't run to Mike's, I just used the circle shape that has the flat sides. I think I will 'look' at the cartridges you mentioned & see if one should be in my library.
It was so funny, cause I agreed to make these angel toppers for the 3rd Grade Activity day, but was panicking cause I didn't have a punch the correct size. I got on here to look at scallop punches & saw the Cricut threads. Big DUH moment!!!! Of course, a scalloped edge would have been pretty, but man, punching out 75 ~ I was really happy with my Cricut when I was done!!!!
Do you find that using the scallop from Mini Monograms match up with the circles with the George cartridge? Trying to decided if I should buy the MM cartridge or got the Nestabilities route. Any sugesstions. I don't honestly use my cricut much, so not sure which would be the best route.

I think the nesties will give more sizes to the quarter inch but cannot be as large as the cricut shapes soooooooo... figure out which you would use more.....
If you get the new Design software for the Cricut, you can cut any size shape - you just drag the edge to the size that you need. You can also make it wider or narrower to match shapes from other cartridges.

One thing to think about, is do you mass produce? I was with a stamping buddy a couple of weeks ago, and she was making card sets for teachers gifts. They had two scalloped circles per card, and she was using her Nestabilities.
Put paper in, crank, crank, crank. Put paper in, crank, crank, crank... On and on.
If you set up the Cricut, you could cut a dozen or more scalloped circles with the push of a button. Seems much more efficient to me.
These are the scalloped shapes that I found on the Cricut cartridges. Am I missing any? I'd like to make sure I have a list on my PDA because it always seems like I am looking for this information. ;)
hmmm very interesting ladies! Kimberly - thanks for letting me know that I will be need TWO new cartridges if I go the cricut route! heehee I thought MM had both circles & squares. guess not :( They really should come out with ONE cartridge thast does both!
Um, if you re-read Kimberly's post, you'll see that MM does have both circles and squares. Now we really need the hearts and ovals and rectangles added to it!
Cheers!

Oh... and it looks like I was wrong when I said that if you use the shadow feature when cutting the shapes that you could avoid the hole. (Or maybe I didn't say it but I thought it.) I was just playing with the Design Studio software and I haven't found a way to get rid of the hole. I wonder if I could use the weld feature to weld a circle over the hole? Nope, doesn't look like that would do it either. But... in the Design Studio software, I can resize a plain oval to fit inside the scalloped oval. After re-sizing the ovals to nest, I need to move the plain oval off the scalloped one so that they both cut separately. (Actually, I would have to move the plain one to a different page so that the Cricut cuts that on different paper.) I'm rambling... it's WAY past my bedtime. But.. my bags are packed and we're off for a week's vacation. I'm tempted to bring my laptop and Cricut machine but I am resisting.

Hmm...I thought if you used the "shadow" feature you could eliminate the hole. Is that not the case?
