Default Cricut problems?

Ok, I got to use my neighbor's brand new Cricut today. Very cool! But .. and this is a BIG but .. it wouldnt' cut through my cardstock. Even on the highest setting. It wouldn't come close on the SU cardstock -- but most of my cs is Bazzill and it didn't cut through that either.
Has anyone else had this problem? Did you find a solution?

I think the blade is dull. I used one at a retreat and was able to get it to cut easily through Bazzill.

She should call their tech support. I had the same problem with mine, and the nice lady there told me that some new machines were sent out with defective blades. They sent me a new blade at no charge, and it works fine now.
