Default How do I wet emboss a straight line?

Hi there. Please tell me what kind of pen or other instrument should be used to draw a thin straight line which will then be wet embossed? The powder doesn't still to the "Marvy Brush Marker" or other marker brands. Thanks in advance!

There are many clear embossing ink markers available -- a Versamarker would also do the trick (Versamark ink pen). Or you could use a regular marker and hit it with Trancendence Embossing Powder -- it does allow embossing on regular dye inks that otherwise dry too quickly. In a pinch, a line drawn with an erasable pen (from PaperMate) will also emboss but it would be a thinner line. The ink holds embossing powder, oddly enough. They come in black, blue and red. Happy Embossing!

If you don't want a super thin line I use the 1/4 inch red line, terrifically tacky, tape made by Provo Craft. I use my M's coupons to get it. Andrea

I second the Versa Marker! You can also "color" in little details on a stamped image to be embossed like jingle bells or buttons.

If you want a fine line, you can use an eraseable ballpoint pen. It's good for signatures, too, if you want to get fancy and emboss it. Eileen

another vote for the versamarker!

i wonder if a gel pen would work, the ink stays wet for a while.

i am gonna go try it now!

i will report back!

i tried it... it would not be my first choice.

a little bit of powder stuck to the ink and embossed ok when heated.

i would prefer to use versamark but in a pinch i might turn to the gel pen. i have the stardust gel pens and the sparkle was very pretty.

If you have the Sakura Quickie Glue pen, you can emboss with that. I know it seems strange, but the powder sticks to the glue and then embosses just fine. I've used it on stamped images where I just wanted some of the small details embossed.
