I don't like that it will only be available on HSN and never in the stores. I don't need one now but if this one ever quits then maybe there will be an E2 in my future.

My understanding is that only that configuration will be limited to HSN ~ there probably be other 'special' E2s for other stores, like maybe one that only comes with one (or maybe more) different pre-loaded cartridges. I ordered mine last night ~ I just don't want to have to wait & see & play the who's got the best price/bundle/configuration etc game. I had waited on the original E & waited & waited. When the PTA gave one to my dds school, I finally got to play with one & oh I really liked the large size. I really want to get the Silhoutte too, because of the fact that I can print out my digital stamps & then cut out frames around them. I was so on the fence, but my dd is in love with the E2 & begged...
Here is the door that I made for one of the 1st grade teachers (since it was so close to the end of the year, she just needed something put up quickly). If I do it again for next year, I'll be able to better plan it ~ but I think it's still pretty cute. I used my favorite Create A Critter cartridge...

I got my new E2 today! The UPS man arrived at my hse just as I was pulling in from work! I can't believe how fast it came and I didn't request express mail either. First time I ever received an order in the same wk from HSN.
You are so lucky, my fingers are crossed that I am just as lucky.

I'm waiting for my E2 to arrive. I'm so anxious and excited, because I'm new to the Cricut world and this will be my first Cricut!!! What a way to start off, huh?? Knowing I would be getting one, I've even ordered cartridges for it too, is that too eager???
I don't think that is too eager at all. I jumped from the original cricut, that I got 5 years ago, to the E2, and I am overwhelmed with all the cool features, so I am sure you will be the same kid in a candy store excited.

I do, I got it for christmas when they had the 5 free carts plus the 2 that came with it for $89 and I love it. I take it with me to crop and it is great! I have 2 bugs, my o-bug is lent to my friend who does not have one and she can use all my carts (except the one I keep in my expression to run scal) and I can still use them because I have gypsy. Plus not haveing as many options as I do with scal scrappin is quicker at a crop :P
I with I could just highlight and apply shadow to a word in gypsy like I can scal tho....
:
LOVE-LOVE-LOVE my Gypsy!!! It has helped me use my E so much more! Actually I am challenged to use My E without it!
(Just do wish their updates went smoother!ugh!)
You are not the first person to say they use their machine more, so now with my E2 I really need one Though my dh was the first one to use my E2 as he is a guest host today for VSBN!!! Happy national scrapbooking day!

I have had my Cricut for a short time but feeling it was a mistake :(
I wanted to use it to make my own packaging but not only did MTC have to stop supporting it but the tags bags boxes and more cartridge has stopped and is not available, being in the UK the Cricut cost me more anyway and the cartridges are 50 standard. I can't even find the same things that were on the cartridge to use as a svg etc. This is all new to me and feeling lost on the subject. Thank goodness for SCS and all the help forums, freebies and pics, I have managed to make a acetate box without the Cricut. Was so excited to about getting it tbh :/
Advise always welcome, im not good with inkscape either lol

I got my Gypsy a couple of Christmas' ago and love it! Between that and SCAL that is the only way I use my Cricut. I really am not antsy to get the E2, because I figure my Expression with Gypsy pretty much does most things the E2 will do and the Gypsy is easy to take on the go. I can work on laying things out to be cut while traveling or any other down time I might have and when ready to cut hook it up to my Expression and hit cut!
I love to position things on the mat and see exactly how they are going to cut, because it makes it easy to see where to lay my papers if I am using different colors and/or designs.
So I see how much everyone loves their Gypsy, I still don't like mine and am thinking of selling it. The only thing that I have kept it for is because it has tags, bags, boxes and more on it and I can't get that cart anymore. I think the Gypsy is to high tech for me.

I keep looking for that cart and Black Letter. Those 2 carts and 3 others are on there. I really want those I guess if I have to keep the Gypsy for that I will. Maybe I'll get used to it.

Hi!
The Gypsy does take a bit of getting used to, when I first got mine I wanted to toss it out the window a few times but I couldn't because it was brand new (like when they first came out) and DH bought it for me as a gift and at full price.
This is how I learn, and how I learned how to use the Gypsy. I would push a button to see what it did, and then delete and try again. I'd take notes, of what I did, this button does this, this button does that.
Then a few ladies started putting videos out on You-Tube, and I'd follow along and do the steps as they did them. That really helped too. Just type Cricut Gypsy and watch the videos and try doing what they are doing.
I teach classes on how to use the Gypsy, you can feel free to ask questions and I'll help the best I can.
I have downloaded all my handbooks (142 of them) onto my I-Phone using an App called "Good Reader", so that when I use my Gypsy I can look at the handbooks on my phone.
Others download to their I-Touch (don't need an internet connection to look at the handbooks after they are downloaded, which is great), to the e-book readers and even their computers by downloading as pdf files.
I know people have sent photos to their Gypsy's using the photo app, but you can't look at a photo and create at the same time, so that isn't practical.
If you mean a library of "Linked" cartridges, yes, there is a drop down menu that allows you to see all cartridges, linked cartridges or cartridges in use. The last one is for multiple carts on a project, in case you forgot where the image came from, sure cuts down on a lot of searching that way.
Is that helpful?
don't be afraid. The big red X means delete. Drop an image on a mat, see what happens when you do this, see what this button does, zoom in, zoom out. The more you practice the easier it is to use.
Truth is I forget how to push buttons on the machine anymore, and find it easier to design on my Gypsy and then cut, then it is to stand at the machine and try to get the sizes and placement on the mat just right.
I teach Cricut and Gypsy classes through a craft store, see if there is one near you that offers classes on the Cricut or the Gypsy.
Does anyone here cut SVG files from lettering delights out on their E? I got an email today from lettering delights and it has the cutest beach themed images, I was thinking of buying them, but don't know how I'd cut them out with my E.
Karen,
I am going to go through all the steps, some you probably know, but a new Gypsy user may not, sorry if it seems "basic"
1. You have a new file open or a page open. There is a mat on your screen. You have to have a mat, either new, or one you're working on to do this.
2. Click on the keypad overlay icon. Bottom right of screen
3. This will take you to the last overlay used
4. Touch the box on the bottom left that contains the name of the cartridge. If you've never loaded a cartridge onto your Gypsy it will be one of the preloaded cartridges either Gypsy Font or Gypsy Wanderings.
5. You should see SHOW: and a box and on the far right side of the box a downward pointing triangle in a circle. It will either say Linked Cartridges or All Cartridges.
Below the word SHOW should be a box with an alphabetical listing of cartridges if you have linked the cartridges shown they are in dark print, if you haven't they are in red print.
6. Touch the triangle in the circle in the box next to SHOW. If you don't see the third option "Cartridges in Use", it's because your Gypsy is new and needs to be updated through the Cricut Sync.
7. I normally keep my library set at linked cartridges. It's not a big deal, you can change it when you want. If you want to see a cartridge you don't have linked, just switch to all cartridges and check it out.
8. Every time you sync your Gypsy, if there are cartridges to be added to the all cartridge list it will be done automatically.
9. You can use this as a way to scroll down through the list of cartridges, then select the one you want to use.
