Question Circle Cutter

I finally opened and am trying to use the SU Circle Scissor plus. I think it's a Cutter Bee product. I'm ready to throw it out the window. I have cardstock on my self-healing cutting mat w/ a bit of adhesive, but the paper moves. I tried a bigger piece of paper, but I can't hold it down while also holding the base down. What's the trick to use this or should I really throw it out? Really wish I had a 2 1/2" punch!!

I think you need to have a glass cutting mat/board, not a self healing mat. At least that is what Stampin' Up sold to work with the Circle Scissor Plus. Maybe someone else has experience using it with a self healing mat and they can help you out. Good luck!

I can't help because even with a glass mat I never was able to master it. It's long gone. I bought at non-SU 2" punch because I got tired of waiting.

I bought a Martha Stewart circle cutter (I think made by EK Success like SU's) and it would not work at all. Kept jumping around. It's actually not logically created. I took it back to Michaels and got a refund. I use circle dies now. I found a pack at Michaels with 21 dies in it by Lifestyle (Memory Keepers).

Not sure why glass is recommended. I would think my cutting mat with a bit of adhesive would be more effective. Very surprised that SU would sell this defective product. A friend brought over her CM circle cutters; what a joy!

Glass is recommended because there is less resistance when cutting on a curve.

I have one, and I get very good results when I use it. I use a glass mat, and it is very smooth when it cuts. Sometimes I don't even tape the paper down. The only advice I can give is to make sure that the blade is straight up when you insert it into the cutter base. Hold the base firmly, and don't over-cut. I hope that helps.
