Red face Can you help me re: Paint Cans?

OK, I'm workin' on a paint can project.

But, the handle on mine doesn't stand up on its own.

How are you guys making yours stand up like the ones I see in the gallery????

I make alot of them-I usually cover the handle in tied ribbons all the way across. The handle will usually stand up (sort of)-it doesn't always stay up though. The weight of the ribbon kind of helps-I am curious to hear what others say?

I was going to mention ribbons too... that's how I've always done it in the past... I haven't had the pleasure of perusing the gallery for paint cans, so I can't be sure if that's what others are doing.

These are such fun to make, good luck!

I used beads on the handle of the one in my gallery. I got them in the kids' project section of Michael's. The handle stays up with beads on it. HTH.

Sometimes it also depends on the can. I've had some where the handle stays up with ribbon, and I've had some that don't. LOL One thing I did find tho. If you tie ribbons where the handle meets the can and kind of bunch them up there, it helps to keep the handle from falling back down. I hope that made sense!

Yep! I would suggest bunching up the ribbon where the handle is attached to the can.

The paint can I made wouldnt stand up until I wrapped ribbon around the handle. Now it stands up by itself.
