I know there's plenty you can do about a dried-out Copic marker, but I wasn't so sure about the BIC Mark-Its. I just bought the 12-pack of them at Big Lots (the Easter colors). I took the new colors and gave the rest to my son. Wouldn't you know, one of his new markers won't color a thing. It has the ink color in the tip, but it's as dry as can be.
So I'm wondering - is there anything I can do to make this marker write? Or should I contact the company?

Thanks for any help!
This is just an off the wall thought, and I haven't tried it. Maybe you can put a little bit of rubbing alcohol in a small glass, and put the marker in it with the tip down. It could absorb the alcohol. Bics are alcohol based markers so it might work.
I do know that sometimes Big Lots buys closeouts and older merchandise from other places. Maybe the markers are last year's and just dried out with time.

I was wondering the same thing about rubbing alcohol. I just might try that. What can it hurt?
As for them being closeouts, that might be the case, but only 1 of the 12 was dry. The rest are just as good as the ones I bought at the regular store. I thought perhaps it was the way they were stored (hanging instead of flat), but that still should affect all the markers instead of just one. Who knows?
You know, if it's only one color, maybe you can go to Walmart or an office supply and just buy an individual pen in that color. I know they sell the colored Sharpie pens individually, and maybe you could find a close match.
Good luck.

I think I would try and contack the company how much would it be for them to replace the one. I would think they would not want bad rep. You can only try.
Contact BIC ~ I had one that was dried out when I bought my package (the cap was loose and didn't close tightly), so I called them and they sent me a replacement marker.
