Default SU! Craft Ink

I just went to open some spots of craft ink and noticed that my banana label looked oily. When I opened it up, it seemed almost dry. I smooshed it around a bit to work the color back up to the top. The other colors seemed okay (no oily top) but the banana is almost dry. I thought I would try spots as I thought that would be more economical, but it certainly isn't if they dry out and have to be reinked, particularly since they had never been opened. Has anyone else had a problem with the craft spots or in general, do they tend to dry out? It seems that the amount of ink on that small area would dry out quickly and often. I can't return them because it has been too long. I guess my lesson learned is that I should open everything immediately and try it out. Any thoughts on craft ink? I think going forward, I'll stick with versamark to emboss.

I don't have a lot of experience with the craft pads, i have only white, but I do know the SU is usually really great about returns and such, I have had to have a few punches replaced, and they were really great about it.

sorry, I've never had a problem with any of mine. Mine are maybe 3 years old.

I love craft ink for certain things. It's great if you want to emboss in any color. It's also great for stamping color on color (like navy onto red). I actually prefer that my craft spots not be too juicy. Otherwise, it's easy to get too much ink onto the stamp.
One tip is to always heat set craft ink; that is how you get the true color.
If you haven't had the spots too long, I would suggest contacting your demonstrator. He/she can contact SU to see if they would be willing to do something for you.

I had a problem very similar to this with So Saffron! (Glad to hear it wasn't just me!) When I first opened the package, I picked that one up and it was oily... Then I opened it and could see oil around the ink pad itself, but it seemed to have some ink left in it. My concern was that it would dry up really quick, so I contacted my demo, who went to SU! and sent me a return mailer and brand new set of Rich Regals.

With that said, I would definitely contact your demo to see if they can replace your spot. HTH!

I have ordered 3 color families of the craft spots so far and have had one or two arrive that were not juicy like you talked about. I just bought the reinkers for those colors since I knew I would need them anyway. Definitely try to contact your demo and see if she can get your items returned.
