I'm looking to buy a cutting system, and I was wondering if anyone owns the wishblade? If so, do you like? Why? Why not??? What all can it do? I think I would like it because it can print out any font that you have on your computer. Thanks for your help.
I actually own a Craft Robo. It is the generic version of the Wishblade and is cheaper, and actually has easier, more compatible software...
If you're really looking for a good cutter that cuts chipboard for just a little more than a Wishblade, check out the Klic-N-Kut Element. It's an awesome new machine that is mac compatible when used with a windows mirror program like Boot Camp. It is also compatible with Vista!!
Email me if you want more info on where to find these cutters or to help you figure out what cutter works best for you!

Hi, Sarah
I own the craftrobo, which is the same hardware as the wishblade (different set of software, however)
To see what it can do, and compare it to the other cutters on the market, look at the comparison spreadsheet at my site, MyDieCuts:
mydiecuts.com/project/viewer/96
If you are price sensitive, I would go for the CraftRobo, which I sell for $269. However, if you need to cut thicker materials (cardstock, fun foam, chipboard) and you want more powerful/convenient software, I would opt for the Klick-N-Kut element, which is available for preorder at $550.
Of course, everyone has different needs, so please feel free to ask if you have any other questions.
I have a Craft Robo which is the equivalent of the Wishblade, and I love it. If you want to read more about the differences between the two, a great place to look is Craft Robo section the UKScrappers.co.uk forum.
I have the blue wishblade. I went with it for the use of true type fonts, welding, creating your own images, not having to buy tons of cartridges, etc. However, it is still in the box. :( I simply have not had the time to take it out, play with it and learn. I'm considering selling it as it is just money laying around collecting dust right now.
Another Craft Robo user here!! I love mine & do not regret it....even though I spent nearly $400 18 months ago. Even my husband thinks it is a very cool tool!

I'm in the same boat with my Pink Wishblade... I fell into the HSN buy... started to learn to use it, but don't really have the time to play with it and learn like I should. If anyone is looking for the new Wishblade, I have one, gently used, even with the WinPC Scrapbooking software... PM me...
I have a blue one and I love it. i do not use it as much as I thought I would because shortly after buying it I discovered stamping. but I love what I can do with it. For Christmas cards last year I had it cut out little boxes & bows to make a present for each card. I love being able to cut a title and then the same letters for a mat and it fits perfectly. I am upset with the company though because they are not going to do a patch for Vista for the blue ones - unless that has changed recently.

I have a wishblade. If you want some true info from Wishblade/Craftrobo users then try the yahoo wishblade group or paperthreads.com. I looked at them both. Paperthreads was great with a start up manual. Much better than the one that came with it. I really like mine although I find that I am terrible about being on SCS and not working on any of my projects!!
I have a blue Wishblade, new March 2006. I love it.
I use it all the time. I love using it to make titles, but there's really not much you can't do with it.
I was just wondering if anyone has one of the "petal cards" that I could trace? (Since SU no longer sells petal cards...) I'd love to turn that one into a file!
Or the purse - that's another one I don't have a file for yet.

The petal card can be seen on page 217 of the 2006-2007 catalog. The purse card is right under it. I was able to get a template for the purse card but it's too big for me to scan (8 1/2 x 11 is my maximum).
I have the original Wishblade and I wouldn't do without it. The new Create & Cut software has really made it one of my favorite scrapbooking tools. Plus, you can now purchase individual shapes at the Xyron website instead of buying a whole disc of them for $70 or so.

I was able to scan & trace the mini take-out box.
i will look in my files and see if i have one or if i can find one somewhere - it may take a few days but if i find one i will share the gsd with yall!
