Today I was at Archiver's and decided to do an acetate card for Christmas. But I know that I can get it cheaper then there (4 sheets for 5 something! Ouch) So here's the question that I'm sure was asked a million times before but where is the best place to get it......Are there better kinds to get if you want to bend them like a card?? Any help would be appreciated so I can try this new idea! Oh and also how do you best like to do it. Do you adhere the paper or do you just use ribbon to tie it in?
All the way at the bottom of this page link below. 10 sheets for $3, and she has LOTS of other cool things that she'll ship together in a flat rate envelope to make the shipping worth it...... (if the products are small enough).
I go to Office Max's printing shop (in the back of their stores) and purchase cover weight acetate from them for about 65 cents per sheet. Works great for cards...you can get two A2 size card per sheet.
I have also used the overhead acetate and that is way cheaper than even 65 cents per sheet. I guess If you want a heavier you may want to get something else but, the overhead type has worked very well for me.
I get mine from Flourishes, it's about $4 for 10, I used to use the ink jet transparencies(sp?), but I love the acetate from Flourishes, it's nice and thicker.

Would the office supply store acetate work for gift boxes? I need to make some boxes to hold sets of cards and I'd like to make the tops clear.
Jutta
If the top of the box is just a window with support all around the weight of overheads would be fine. If the most of the cover is the acetate then I would look for something heavier.
