I saw a card last year that was cream and white and I would love to pull that off. I think it is hard to work with two pale colors, but it was gorgeous.

Joan...check this one out....it's not "Christmas" but it could be with a different sentiment
I'm thinking of a white/soft yellow/gold combo. In fact I already decorated some ornaments Crafters know you have to start early... http://stampingmathilda.blogspot.com...ornaments.html
I think I will choose this color combo for a lot of x-mas cards too.
OOOHHH! I accidently stumbled across an amazing cream and gold colored card today done with snowflakes. If I can find it again I will post it...hopefully I will be back with good news.
My upline did a snowflake card with snowflakes in river rock, orchid opulence, old olive, and purely pomegranate on a whisper white square. This white square was framed with purely pomegranate, then mounted on a square river rock card. Then the word joy was stamped in purely pomegranate in a white circle with a river rock snowflake stamped behind it. This white circle was mounted on the 1 3/8 inch circle in purely pomegranate. and popped up on a dimensional on the top of the card a little to the right of the centre. A bling rhinestone brad was put in the centre of the largest snowflake. It looks quite stunning. So I tried to copy it. I didn't have the word Joy, so I put the word Praise, and it fit perfectly into the 1 1/4 circle. I'm so pleased with the way it turned out.
I will definitely be using the purely pomegranate in my cards. I love the paper in the mini that combines it with River Rock. I guess I need to choose my stamp set first though!
All those cards are beautiful! I love the cream and white and gold. I'm planning something like that in my head for the future.
This year I think I'm going with Almost Amethyst and White. I'm using a retired set, "Peace" with the dove. I've loved it for a long time and think I'm just going to go with that.
I just made a card using solemn stillness with Blue Bayou, old olive, soft sky, always artichoke, and patterned pomegranate paper. I just uploaded it to my gallery here in color christmas by AnniePie at Splitcoaststampers I am hoping to use it in my christmas SAS if I still like it by then haha
I'm thinking either Wasabi and Eggplant (but for a card swap - the idea I have is good, it would just take me forever if I did 50-60 - and then I would end up hating it) or Chocolate Chip and Bashful Blue, like the wrapping paper, which I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate as a layer in a card.
Anyone know how heavy the paper is?
I think if you do the cream/white type cards, you def. need some texture like the cuttlebug or lots of layers or embellishments to have some contrast and interest.
I like cooler colors like lavendar, pink, silver, pale blue. They are kind of frosty.
I also like very MOD colors like hot pink and lime with something like Purely Pomegranite. I plan to do a mod-style card with the KI Memories papers.
You know... even bright colors like those look great on a black background, too. You don't see much of that, but the colors (especially white snowflakes) would look awesome.
I like the idea of eggplant and silver someone mentioned. Very regal!
