Question *Glimmer Mist

I just went to Archivers last night and bought some Glimmer Mist! The lady demo'ed it to me a couple of weeks ago and I just had to get some! So I was wondering:

What do you guys think of it?
Have you bought or used it yet?
What do you like to do with it?
Favorite Colors?
Cool and Unique Techniques?
What not to do?

*sorry about posting this as 'glitter mist' I guess I read the label wrong

Don't spray too close to the paper.
I have 2 Glimmer Mist, a couple Radiant Rain and a few other brands of similar products.
One cool technique is to take a cutout that you like - use it as a mask before you spritz.

Experiment and enjoy!

I have a few colors I picked up at a scrapbook convention. A friend of mine recently used them to perk up the white paper on the inside of the card. She also spritzed a little on the outside of the envelope. It looked really nice.
At the convention they told us to only tip it side to side to mix it up. Don't shake it vigorously.

It is beautiful. I have snowflake, mimosa, harvest and bubble gum
I use it to color bare chipboard brown or white.
I love putting it on my flowers (snowflake)
Use it on chipboard books.

You can do it a few ways, were you start to spray on your scrap and then bring the mist over your project to give it a light spray

Also noted: I do not shake mine, just swirl it to get the mica mixed enough that you can see the swirl. I was told shaking will bring the mica into the tip and clog it. Also keep it upright, dont turn your bottle over on side to spray as mica will go into tip. I have not had any of mine clog yet!

I love using it with masks. Gives a really soft background look. Tim Holtz has a great video on utube showing this.

I have several bottles. I couldn't tell you all the names but the colors are green, blue, turquoise, graphite, bronze (my fave) and several others. I use them quite a bit. I love to get the drops on and spread them out sometimes. Then I like to light spray back and forth across the surface. I've used them on cardstock, chipboard, all kinds of things. Love the effect.

I'm sorry to be a killjoy, but I have a bottle of the Glimmer Mist in Pearl and I really don't like the stuff at all. No matter how lightly I spray it on cardstock, the paper dries buckled. Even laying the cs in the sun or using a heat gun doesn't seem to help.

Yip, me too! I want to love it because I love all things sparkly but I have the same problem plus no matter how careful I am, I get drips and splotches.

Do you find that the glitter/shimmer rubs off? Do you think that if you sprayed once, let it dry completely, and then sprayed it again it might not buckle? I've never used it, but I keep looking every time I go to my LSS. It's so pretty from what I've seen.

Now that the search bar is working I have read that to keep it from splotching you have to hold your piece up and spray it so the bottle stays horizontal or spray into the air and then wave piece through it- As for the paper buckling I have read that people put it in a book with a paper towel on top of it (to keep it from harming book)

I've got a few bottles of glimmermist and I dont like the uneven coverage I get when spraying onto paper. I now only sponge or paint it on and I find this gives me a more even coverage and warps the paper less as I'm not heavily coating (soaking) the paper. It's not really one of my favourite products.
