Default petal point chalks and tiles

I have only used a tile from Lowes that resembles the tumbled tile, but the grooves are not as deep. I like them because you do not lose as much of the stamped image. I am having a problem with the chalks. If I put them in the oven to heat set-they melt down or bleed and run. If I use my heat tool they do not set! I wonder if it is the tile I am using or if I am doing something else wrong! They are the Rialto beige tiles for about $.35 a piece.
