Default Tying ribbon--for dummies??

Hi all--

I've just added ribbon (grosgrain to be exact) to my collection of accessories. I love how it looks, but how to you get those cool square-knot looking knots where the knot is in the middle of the ribbon and the ends are tucked behind the cardstock out of view? I've wasted so much ribbon trying to tie like this, that I figured I'd better turn to the experts

here's a link to what I'm talking about:

Thanks in advance!!

just cut a length of ribbon, and knot once.

adhere ends around cardstock.

Easy!

I think the knot looks like that because it is not pulled tight. The square knots look better like this when they are pulled, but not tightened. Hope that helps!

Cute card!

Just a thought about not throwing out any "ruined" ribbon. I'm astonished at how little it takes with some uses (I recently used 2" or cord!), and even if there's an area that is wrinkled or mangled looking, you can usually still use it in a way that looks neat.

I have had trouble tying ribbon knots too, but I FINALLY figured it out! I posted a tip sheet in the Resources forum.

Good luck!
