Default Embossing help needed...

Thought I was doing this right but had disasterous results - nothing adhered to the page.

Here are the steps I took: wiped the paper, stamped with Versamark, sprinkled then shook off excess, heated with tool as directed. Can anyone see what I've done wrong?

Are you sure you're using embossing powder and not fine glitter that is often lumped in with the EPs in the craft store?

I've made this mistake once or twice. Check your EP to make sure it's actually EP.

If it is EP, perhaps you didn't heat it long enough. You should see the EP start to "melt" on the image. It takes several seconds (at least with my heat gun).

Good luck!

Another tip that has helped me is to use the heat gun on the under side of the paper. It doesn't blow the powder off like heating from the top does.

Thanks for the tip Jennifer, I never thought of that. I'll have to try it.

Was your versa mark too dry? Did any of the EP stick to the paper?
