Default tone-on-tone stamping

Do any of you know what tone-on-tone stamping is? What is the technique, how do you do it?

thanks , Roxann

okay, i'm just guessing here, but would it be when you use the same color ink and cardstock? let's say you were using old olive cardstock from stampin up and you stamped on it with old olive ink. they are both the same exact color, so it creates a watermark like effect. (same as just plain stamping with a versamark) it is a very cute look.

Yup, that is what it is.

It makes a little stronger image than with Versamark--and won't fade like Versamark does. It is fantastic for backgrounds.

I didn't know that Versamark fades. I've used it a few times for a tone-on-tone look. Does it fade quickly?

It does take a while (weeks) but it eventually does.

Wow, I had no idea that Versamark fades! I'll have to look at some of the cards I made a while ago.

Bummer, I've done stamping with Versamark and no one ever said it fades. Guess I won't be doing that any more.

I went back and looked at a card I did with Versmark in the middle of April; it hasn't faded. It's been in a box out of the light. I'm going to keep checking it every couple weeks. Or maybe I should just send it to someone and not worry about it. LOL
