Can you post a link to a Tri-Step card so we can check out what it looks like? Or are you talking about the Side Step card? you can find instructions for that in this technique challenge thread.
It looks to me like someone has cut two sets of stair steps, turned one upside down, line up the points, then mounted them on a separate piece of cardstock, giving the optical illusion of a 3-D effect. You can freehand the stairs. Looks fairly easy, nifty idea, too.

Reading the details, they are cut with something like a Silhouette. In fact, you are buying a CD with the cutting files, not the pre-cut cards, from what I understand. Which accounts for the detailed cutting in the letters down the steps.
woo hoo...it is very rough but here goes! I am a Mac user and did translate through a program online but the syntax will be screwy to us. Now I am going to go try it!
WOOHOO! I got it done. This is a rough PDF template for a 5" x 4 1/4" card...and I mean really rough. Doing stuff like this is so good for me...my mother just died from Alzheimer's and we know that doing these things is great exercise for the brain.
Why here you go Billie! I am having problems with photographer..she is not very good with the camera! And, this was a fast one! I know, my blues do not match but it was all I had.

Congratulations!!! I'll give that a go tomorrow.
By the way, if you want to remove the dud pdf, go into your profile, and down at the very bottom on the left is a heading Attachments. Select the one you want to get rid of and delete.

Is that a good thing, though. I like the limited time, it prevents abuse of the facility and too much revisionism.
I tried a simple version of the card .
I think I'll fiddle around to try to get the steps a bit deeper, but I wouldn't have tried without your template as a starting point!

Oh I like yours! I love the clean and simple look.
When I get time I would like to do and Eensy Weesny Spider one for Halloween!

When I am working on a project for both MAC and PC, I save my files in .rtf format (rich text file). I know you figured out how to get .doc and .docx in the end but do you know if I could save picture files in .rtf as well? I don't mean to hijack the thread but I too am learning all these neat things about editing.
Thanks
